Location and old school charm make this hotel an ideal choice in Lugano. The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The room was very nice with a lovely lake view. We booked long in advance and the price was very competitive by Swiss standards. Highly recommend

Dieses traditionelle Hotel an bester Lage ist nicht zu toppen: grosse Zimmer, sehr bequeme Betten, ein wunderschöner Giardino inkl. Pool, freundliches Personal sowie Garage im Haus, hervorragendes Frühstücks-Angebot. Und dies zu sehr angemessenen Preisen. Wir waren schon des öfteren im Internationale und haben gleich für Herbst wieder gebucht. Dank den schönen Zimmern auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt geeignet.

Sehr schön erhaltenes Gebäude, die Zimmer wurden wohl gerade (sehr geschmackvoll) renoviert. Freundlicher Empfang, sehr saubere Zimmer, sehr schöner Blick auf den See. Mein persönliches Highlight: das zweite, etwas kleinere Kopfkissen. Wir haben hervorragend geschlafen, hatten ein prima Frühstück und kommen gerne wieder.

Die Lage des Hotels ist unübertrefflich. Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeitenden beeindruckend. Für beides fünf Punkte. Die Betten sind etwas knarrig und aufgrund der sehr ringhörigen Zimmer auch aus dem Nachbarzimmer gut zu hören. Dafür gibt es etwas Abzug, wenngleich die nicht vorhandene Schallisolation der Historie des Hotels geschuldet ist, was seine Berechtigung hat. Preis-Leistung stimmen meiner Meinung nach. Das Frühstück hat sehr gutes Brot zu bieten und ebenfalls einen sehr freundlichen Service. Die Speisen sind ausreichend und von guter Qualität (Kalbswürstchen, überbackene Tomaten, Pancakes, Rührei, Speck, Mortadella, Bresaola, ein bis zwei Sorten Käse, Müsli, Joghurts, Croissants etc.). Der Kaffee liegt bei drei von fünf Punkten. Die Zimmerreinigungskraft kriegt fünf Punkte aufgrund von Sauberkeit und Freundlichkeit. Dass ein Hotel wie das Internationale überhaupt noch familiengeführt ist, ist beeindruckend und verdient fünf Punkte.

Immer wieder großartig. Wir hatten das Eckzimmer im 4. Stock, jeden Morgen beim Aufwachen ein grandioser Ausblick. Außerdem wurden wieder mal einige Dinge verbessert: zwischen den Zimmern gibt es nun Zwischentüren, was den Familienaufenthalt sehr angenehm macht. Steckdosen gibt es genug, obendrein mit USB-Anschluss fürs Handy. Am liebsten waren uns aber immer noch die Klassiker: tolle Zimmer, tolle Badezimmer, tolles Ambiente, eine phantastische Terrasse / Garten / Poollandschaft, und die Lage an der Via Nassa. Auf der Terrasse könnten wir ganze Tage verbringen, so schön ist das Ganze gestaltet. Einzig die Schachfiguren könnten mal erneuert werden. ;-)

Sehr freundliche Begrüssung, das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Das Haus ist wunderbar renoviert und die Zimmer sind sehr schön. Auf unserem Zimmer stand uns eine Kaffeemaschine/Wasserkocher für Tee zur Verfügung. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr umfangreich, der Service unaufdringlich, aber aufmerksam. Besonders erwähnenswert sind die tolle Lounge sowie das kleine Museum! Eine kleine, aber feine Ausstellung aus "alten Tagen" des Hotels - einige sehenswerte Trouvaillen! Leider konnten wir den wunderbaren Garten mit dem Pool nicht nutzen - das Wetter war nicht entsprechend... Unser nächster Aufenthalt in Lugano werden wir sicher wieder im Hotel Internation planen!

My wife and I spent one night at International au Lac Hotel during our stop in Lugano during our eight day train tour of Switzerland this past August. We booked the Belle-Epoque room, which is one of the historic rooms in the hotel. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which offered an excellent variety of breakfast items. We thoroughly enjoyed at stay at International au Lac Hotel.

The hotel is well positioned along the waterfront and within easy walking distance from the station (using the funicular to come down/up the hill). It has enormous charm and wonderful gardens. The room was terrific and breakfast was a great experience. Overall a wonderful stay in a top class hotel.
