If you are booking a luxury hotel in Lugano, there is no other option for me. While it’s not right in the middle of the City, it’s in a nice and quiet area and the 10-15 minute walk to the city is great for settling the stomach after eating to much pizza. The grounds are simply stunning, the views are amazing, the breakfast buffet is not amazing but very good (Although the woman who seat you could smile a bit more, all the other staff at breakfast are great). The private Lido is awesome.
I will never stay at another hotel in Lugano for our annual summer trip, it has won my loyalty for life.

Top location mit Seeblick. Sehr hübsch gepflegtes Hotel mit Parkanlage und Palmen. Frühstück war lecker und sehr reichhaltig. Das Abendessen im separaten Michelin-Aussenrestaurant Arté war fein und sehr schön zubereitet. Romantische Stimmung am Abendtisch direkt am See. Das Mittagessen im Hotel selbst war auch gut. Das Jacuzzi und Schwimmbad waren auch eine tolle Bereicherung für Wellness.

Very nice traditional style property with views of the lake. Very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are generous in size and well appointed with all the amenities you would expect from a 5 stars hotel. They have a very good restaurants with diverse offerings to suit everyone. The hotel facilities are very good, indoor pool, gym, spa area. The staff in all areas are very friendly, respectful and helpful. Getting around in Lugano is a bit tricky with getting taxis but the hotel always made arrangements for transportation at any time. Would gladly return to this hotel.

The hotel is a gem combining old world charm with first class amenities. But most importantly the staff are incredibly attentive. For example, Mario was so friendly and helpful with travel advice to Milano. Then, when I left my Apple Watch in my room, instead of mailing to me, he quickly road out to the train station to hand deliver it in time for me to make my train! Who else does that today?

We only had one night in Lugano and decided to stay at Villa Castagnola. The staff were friendly all the way through! Everyone had a smile and a nice greeting. This is how it should be, but so seldom is. The location is perfect. It is close to the part of Lugano you want to experience and walk around in. on our departure day we walked up Mount Bré. It is quite a walk and we were late getting back. Before travelling home we asked to use the spa for a shower and to change clothes and this was no problem at all. Thank you for a great stay!

The Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola was a real gem for us as a family with our baby. Our stay was simply fantastic: the staff were extremely warm and accommodating, the breakfast left nothing to be desired and spoiled us with a rich selection. Our room was not only beautifully decorated, but also offered plenty of space and an unforgettable view of the picturesque Lake Lugano. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and are already looking forward to coming back. Always happy to come back ;)

Two night stay. The room with a magnificent view of the lake and Monte San Salvadore was superb, large and very comfortable, it offered all the necessary comfort in a very quiet setting. The spa was also very well equipped and perfect for relaxing with a day visit. The welcome from the staff was also top notch, worthy of this superb hotel. They also played a large part in the success of our stay in Lugano. Finally, the evening meal taken at the hotel restaurant “le relay” was delicious. Last but not least, the hotel is very well served by buses, which allows you to leave the car in the garage. All the more appreciable since the stay offer included a subscription for public transport. In short, a superb hotel that we recommend with great pleasure.
