3) room very old as for me get used to modern hotel
4) would not consider next time … as my expectation is different

On my way back from Greece, I stayed one night at the Hotel Besso in Lugano, which is a relatively cheap option near the main train station - less than 5 minutes up the main road. The hotel seems rather simple and plain, but I was given a friendly welcome and my room on one of the upper floors had everything I needed, was clean and had a lovely view of the lake. Everything was professional and I was happy with the price-performance ratio. As a rail traveler, you certainly can't go wrong here.

The accommodation is great for a 2 star hotel.
Friendly staff... how rare.
Location right next to the train station is great.
The breakfast was modest, as I was on site for assembly this was enough for us and most importantly the coffee is very good...

Too noisy during the night, customers banged the door very loudly several times and we heard screaming. It kept us from sleeping, too bad.

Overall quality commensurate with the hotel category with excellent value for money. Worthy of note is the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff and the convenience of the proximity to the train station and buses. We will certainly return.

The stay for 2 days and 1 night was very comfortable. Thank you to the staff.
I didn't expect breakfast since it was 10Fr, but it far exceeded my expectations.
I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Lugano.

A bad experience: I sent one of our collaborators to the hotel for work. when confirming the reservation I was not told to pay in advance or to leave a credit card as a guarantee. The manager, arrogant and rude, called me and insulted me as if we didn't want to pay for the stay. Not recommended
