Very satisfied with the hotel. It is very close to the train station. You can see the train coming into the station from the terrace but there is no noise. The decoration is also in the same style as the photos. The lobby is very beautiful and there are even murals on the wall. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly. Breakfast Very good, the egg pancakes and sausages are delicious.

The environment is not very good, but it is quite convenient. It is not far from the city center and the train station. It is a very old hotel. The renovation did not use good materials. The facilities are too ordinary. It is not up to the level of 4 stars! There is no special shampoo. The napkin box is empty. I don't bother to care. I feel that everything is just okay! The front desk service attitude is OK. Most of the people in this hotel are Westerners.

Stayed for 2 nights and was very satisfied. The hotel is only 2 minutes walk from the train station. The inside and outside of the hotel are very luxurious and spectacular. The palace-style buildings, the rooms are stylishly designed, a little children's palace style, the breakfast is rich, and the price of Ctrip is very favorable for the taste. Booking is cheap, so this is the first time I have booked a hotel overseas on Ctrip in Shanghai. I went to the United States to book a hotel for more than 10 nights next month, all of which were booked on Ctrip. I will continue to support Ctrip in the future.

Never should anybody have to experience what I did in any hotel! When I went to bed I checked the bedding before I got in and the mattress protector was covered in stains and hair. Not just one persons hair, this thing had been on the bed for ages. The stains covered the entire protector. I took it off my bed and went down to reception the following morning. What I was offered by the manager was some points on a card I do not own. Now come on, surely a room upgrade and partial refund should have been offered but it wasn’t. As I was only there for 2 nights I asked for free breakfast for myself and my partner. As a manager I would have been mortified, I would have offered the customer anything and everything. The rooms are very small, with minimal space to move around in. The large smart tv had no apps on it, so totally pointless if you cannot watch anything in the language you require. If they installed the apps we could watch from our own accounts, Apple TV, Prime, Netflix etc. Half a door on the shower, of course the water goes everywhere. Breakfast was very disorganised and chaotic. When I arrived most of the hot food wasn’t available and what was available no longer warm. No pastries, no cutlery on my table and tables not cleared quick enough. The location of the hotel in theory should be good but what you have to do is walk through a large carpark and then a complicated train station to get anywhere. Doing this in the dark, would be a no for me. The gym is so neglected, I walked in and then walked out. The one exercise bike available is so old and the seat would not move I literally couldn’t use it. No kettlebells, three dumbbells 5kg, 2kg and 1kg what do they expect us to do with those? I weights machine, with no pin to change the weight. €200 deposit when checking in at the end of my holiday was unexpected and unnecessary. I did say that I didn’t want to pay it that I wouldn’t be incurring any costs or charges and that if I wanted breakfast I would pay at reception. I was told that I had to pay it and that it would not come out of my account if I incurred no charges at the end of my stay. Of course it came out of my account later that day. I plan on visiting Lyon a lot but after the bed incident and the way it was managed I couldn’t stay here again.

Stayed 3 nights. A beautiful hotel in fantastic location. Stone throw to trains, metro, bus-lines with great convenience stops for quick food. Or a 10min flat walk to great eateries, over the station. Ours was an excellent, very comfortable extra large room with large sofa, coffee table, desk, bar fridge and tea making facilities. Friendly staff - reception, restaurant and bar. A wonderful stay.
Response from Property: Dear Madam, Thank you very much for this nice comment ! We are really glad to notice that you enjoyed your stay with us and that our staff made your stay even more comfortable. It was a real pleasure to welcome you and we hope to see you again in Lyon very soon. Best regards,

I asked not to be near the train station and had already requested this as a Gold status member but it was given a very small room right next to the train station so loud trains since 5 AM in the morning. I asked if there was any other room to move to since I had already booked a premium room, so not cheap and they said no. I asked if the next day when people were checking in and out if we could switch rooms and they said they would leave messages and do their best. Long story short nothing happened. Their system broke and was unable to change rooms despite multiple follow-ups. You just get a sense that they’re not trying at the front desk. They seem very indifferent. Plus the location is very unsafe right by the main train station which might be a positive but there’s also a large homeless camp right within feet of the hotel entrance. Very uncomfortable. There’s many other choices to stay in Leon so I would avoid this hotel, especially as a business traveler if you have any other option.

Stayed two nights at this hotel that is adjacent (almost a part of the Lyon Train Station). What I loved. 1. The big room, 2. Quietness of the room despite be next to the train station. 3. Easy walking distance to everything 4. Value for money What I appreciated. 1. The refillable water bottle in the hallway 2. The Lux Soap in the Bathroom What I did not like 1. Parking. Street parking is absolutely unsafe. A car had been broken into not long before we arrived ( glass was everywhere) 2. Parking at the train station is expensive. 35 euros a day (but better safe than sorry) 3. Thought front desk reception was not responsive and a bit pretentious--everyone has a bad day(s), maybe it was there turn. Overall, one of the better Mercures we have stayed in and one with charm and character.
Response from Property: Dear Sir, We very much appreciate your comment and your note regarding your stay in our hotel I will share your comments with our team and I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of us as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you for a new trip in Lyon ! Sincerely,

I TRIED to stay at the hotel last minute as my original hotel csncelled my room. After my booking, I tried to get there by car (about 5 miles away)... after almost 2 hours of going in circles as there Is MAJOR road work making it impossible to get there, decided to call the hotel and they LAUGHED...asked for csncellation and refund but they said the policy was non refundsble. Even i did understand the policy , i also know that: 1. NOWHERE was mentioned there were major road work making it impossible to get there 2. reservation was just done couple hours before. Doubt they hsd much processing to do. 3. LACK of customer service from employees. Laugh from your customer? really? So dissapointed with Mercury. Seems 150usd is what"s its privilege worth.

Full service hotel steps away from the train station. Friendly accommodating staff. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and quiet. Bar, restaurant, and garage. I found the rate to be very reasonable. Perfect if you are travelling by rail. A little difficult as a pedestrian, but public transport is readily available.
Response from Property: Dear NorthStar37122353521 Many thanks for sharing your feedback with us about the Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache. We are pleased that we met your expectations during your stay and that you enjoyed our location as well as your room. Hotel is dated, staff are unhelpful, feels more like 2* than 4*. No benefit to being an Accor diamond member. Disappointed. Rooms are clean and well sound proofed at least and 1 room had good views but very underwhelming however low cost option in Lyon (reflects it). Seen better days, unless you need the train station or parking, stay somewhere else.
Response from Property: Dear Ellie J I am sorry that you found our hotel to be aging. This one is classified as an Art Nouveau historical monument and has been completely renovated with elegance and refinement. I also regret that our staff did not live up to your expectations. Please note, however, that they are very attentive to the expectations of our customers throughout their stay. I have noted your satisfaction with the cleanliness and soundproofing of the rooms. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you soon and assure you today of our best services. kind regards Marion Begoc

If arriving by train / taxi and able bodied you may enjoy the faded romance of the place. If arriving in a car and a wheelchair user I’d say go elsewhere. Advertised as accessible - but not in the real world. Tiny antique lifts: one wide enough but not deep enough. The other only usable if you lift your footplate. Try getting space when busy! Bar: restaurant staff very helpful as were some reception staff who tried to help. Other reception staff were disengaged & unhelpful to the point of rudeness. Food exceeded expectations. Service offering fell short. Should not advertise as accessible - better to say ‘partially accessible, but not for wheelchair users’
Response from Property: Dear 774DavidE I am completely sorry for the bad experience you had during your stay. Our establishment is classified as an Art Nouveau historic monument and was built in 1906. The hotel has been completely renovated and we have been required to preserve the classified parts, which explains why our elevators are not very wide. This being said, and in order to allow people in wheelchairs to access the rooms, we provide a wheelchair which has been designed to fit into our elevators for greater comfort for our customers. I hope that I will personally have the pleasure of welcoming you next time to ensure a quality service that meets your expectations. Kind regards Marion Begoc

I advise you to go there with your family . The service is impeccable. The kids enjoyed the game of baby foot with no one breathing down their shoulder. Breakfast was well prepared, varied, and fresh. The room was spacious, clean. The room overlooked the station but silent
