Set among peaceful fields but not isolated. The bedroom was comfortable and the bar and restaurant were very nice with good food and drink. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Unusually, couldn’t put food and drinks on the room but it didn’t spoil things.

We were a group of 10 over the garden suite and 2 other rooms for my hen party- the other two rooms were right next door and were plenty big enough - the garden room was perfect for a hen party / birthday celebration it could do with a few licks of paint/ things fixing but overall was great, beds were comfy, plenty of hangers storage space and glasses etc also included robes and plenty of mirrors for everyone to get ready in, the hot tub was lovely but isn’t covered so wouldn’t be ideal if it was raining There was a deal on in the restaurant any pasta dish and glass of wine which was a great deal and nice food. Would def return 💕

Good basic hotel which was quiet and clean. Good breakfast. Evening meal not so good. Located in lovely area with beautiful countryside. Bulls head pub just down the road was good for food which served tapas. Good spot if you are exploring the countryside.

We had an excellent deal which included two course dinner and a bottle wine and a few other goodies in the room. Excellent check in; much better than at our previous stay a few years ago; quick, efficient, friendly. Top floor room was very warm so we ended up switching rooms as the window wouldn’t open in the first one; this was handled well, and we much preferred the new room. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast buffet was good, fresh fruit was minimal but the cooked elements were one of the best we’ve ever had at a hotel which does it via buffet style; the bacon was lovely, cooked well and not swimming in grease like you usually get on a buffet. Although the tea was self serve was from the large flasks, it was very hot and lovely, nicer than you often get when it’s served to you for breakfast! Really enjoyed it and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we could get a similar deal. We would eat at the restaurant more regularly if we lived a little closer. Only reason I gave it a 4 star rather than 5 is some of the areas are a little tired, outside needs smartening up, and especially the toilets which serve the restaurant and bar area and foyer (horrible smell from the drains etc when you walk down the beautiful staircase! And only one of the toilets was working in the ladies, and toilet doors rotting away). Our room bathroom had been refurbished and was very good. Shower very good too. Lovely

Hotel is in a lovely area. Staff are very friendly. Food is very nice. Rooms are very dated and old. Walls are paper thing could hear next door very clearly things we didnt need to hear! shame the rooms were such a let down. Also Guiness is £6.65 a pint!

Visited with my cousin who had given me a voucher for a Champagne Tea. Venue looked quite nice on arrival with nice views but no sign of staff on entry. Rang the bell and young lady greeted us and showed us to our table. No sign of anyone else. The champagne was actually Prosecco and the cream tea was absolutely awful. Sandwiches mainly white bread and soggy and the cakes were certainly not fresh and contained goodness knows what kind of cream! The scones were dry and not served with clotted cream but some kind of runny white stuff, the jam was a strange jelly and we weren't asked what kind of tea we would like. The table itself was not covered with a cloth and the surface was sticky. We complained and the waitress apologised and asked if we would like more sandwiches made (strange response). All in all it was a very unpleasant experience and I was sad that my cousin had actually spent money on this as a treat which turned out not to be one. Also small insects crawling on toilet floor beside rotten wood on door surround. No wonder the place was deserted. We had organised a taxi to pick us up after two hours and during out wait we saw absolutely nobody else!!!
