Very convenient central Madrid location. Old hotel, wooden floor in the hallways so quite noisy. Front Office staff were accommodating.
The room is bare-bones. No slippers, bathrobe or washroom amenities. I asked for ear buds and dental kit. They don't have ear buds. Dental kit was simply left on the bed, the toothpaste was so old it had completely dried up.
Television channels were a mess, no order between TV and radio channels.
For a four star it is very utilitarian.

The location is close to Sol station and easy to access, but cars cannot pass in front of the hotel, so you can't pick up a taxi right in front of the hotel, but if you use the metro, I don't think it will be a problem. There are many restaurants around the hotel, so there is a lot of noise until midnight. Even though the room was hot, the noise was so bad that I hesitated to open the window. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom, but it stopped working after about 3 minutes of use, so it took 5 minutes to get it working which was the worst. Most of the staff were very kind, and even though the cleaning staff spoke poor Spanish, they brought towels to me when I asked for them, and the reception staff were kind, but the facilities at the hotel were disappointing.

Perfect location, restaurants & shopping right outside the front door. Go see the flamenco show at the restaurant next door for €35, so worth it. Hotel has a 'Victorian' feel as the name suggests. Breakfast was awesome, staff was super accommodating & hotel was super clean. My first time to Europe & this hotel was getting off in the right foot.

The hotel is located in an unbeatable location in the center of Madrid. You can walk to all the emblematic sites in half an hour.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious and the most incredible thing is that despite being in the middle of the nightlife, the rooms are perfectly soundproofed and you can't hear any of the noise from the street.
However, it would lack a few small details to make it more comfortable. For example, plugs next to the beds and improving the lighting in the room.
Despite everything, highly recommended.
