While this hotel is in a perfect location, it didn't live up to our expectations. The entrance is somewhat hidden on a side street and you walk into a very tiny lobby and have to take your luggage up steep steps to an elevator to check in on the 6th floor. The elevator is so small it barely fits two people with luggage. The reception desk 6th floor is beautiful, with a lovely breakfast area to the left and a bar with outdoor patio to the right. Deep breath, we think this is a good sign. Nope. We head down to our two rooms on the 5th floor and they are MINISCULE. Yes, I knew this was a boutique hotel, but the space in the rooms is very poorly used. No real closet space or dresser drawers and bedside tables are small pedestals where the phone takes up the entirety of one. With such small space, why not a bedside table with a drawer and space below? Nowhere to place luggage. A very low unusable corner chair. One sink in the bathroom with a mini tub/shower and the toilet closet has a glass door that when opened blocks the rest of the bathroom. The room had a musty scent, as did the entire floor outside the room. The carpet seemed to have been placed over an unfinished floor with no padding, so you felt the bumps as you walked barefoot or in socks. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is very good, with a buffet and menu for other options. You can eat in the sunny dining room or on the lovely outdoor patio looking out to the city. The bar area is also beautiful and we enjoyed the extended terrace, though the larger terrace above was closed for delayed construction. We stayed for four nights in two rooms with our 21 year old daughter. Plenty of room for her in ONE room, so if you travel solo, this may be the place for you.
