Great location next to the metro stop and walking distance to restaurants and bars in Chueca neighborhood and to Gran Via. Hotel Avani Alonso Martínez combines the heritage of a classic building, the facade boasts the majestic style of Madrid glorious era and the interior has a young and fresh vibe with neon lights and curated design.
The room is spacious and comfortable, I appreciate the detail of providing a yoga mat, it allowed me to enjoy a morning yoga practice in my own room to kick start the day.

Unfortunately I can't leave a good review since the experience was quite bad. They gave us a tiny room that faced a wall where you practically couldn't move and the worst of all was that there was a horrible mothball smell. Deciding to change hotels, the hotel offered us to change the room since they were aware of the poor quality of that one. That detail was very good on the part of the hotel, but having said that,
I am very surprised that such a bad option was given to a first class client. I travel more than 60 times a year and I have rarely seen a room so bad

Hotel was very dated. Hallways and common areas were dirty. Rooms were clean but dated and did not have the amenities of a “four star” hotel. Front desk personnel were not very helpful, they actually gave friends of ours keys to our room without asking for their names, the guest name or showing any identification. The heat and AC system was shut off so we could not adjust the temperature in our room which was extremely hot and uncomfortable. Parking was over 500 meters away, not easy to fine and no valet or assistance …. Not what you expect from a so called four star hotel. Extremely disappointed!
