If you seek a big chain experience, go to a big chain. If you are looking for a cozy, homey vibe at a 5-star boutique, with high customer touch and staff attention, look no further. Outstanding experience and service throughout: concierge, front desk, bell captains, bar. Rooms were well appointed, beds comfortable, great showers. It is on a narrow street which limits sunlight - if you require a sun flooded room, request a high floor. We found the location ideal as tons to do within walking distance. Definite repeat.

The entire stay was magnificent. I stay at luxury hotels around the world and was worried where to stay in Madrid and came across this hotel. I was skeptical at first of the number 1 ranking on Trip Advisor but it is clearly well deserved. The staff were phenomenal and always greeted me by name and kept asking if I needed anything. The room itself was very nice and well appointed with plenty of space and had great blackout curtains. I appreciated the generous welcome amenity (huge cake) and the luxury L'occitane toiletries. I needed some clothes pressed when I arrived and they were attended to very quickly, and all the wake up calls I needed were promptly delivered. The quality of the lined and furnishings, towels, and the even the fully stocked mini bar was great. Maybe the coffee machine could've been a Nespresso but other than that hard to suggest any other areas for improvement. The lobby bar is beautiful and enjoyed drinks there one evening. Overall this hotel is the perfect size of being big enough but not too big. Finally the location centrally is perfect to walk about Madrid. Well done and thanks again.

Stopped here by chance for dinner - what a find! Wonderful relaxed atmosphere with welcoming staff. We were looking for a cocktail and dinner on the ground floor. The espresso martinis were superb and I have to admit as good as my husband makes. Then dinner with comfortable seating and a well laid table. The steaks were superb - the staff member made the recommendation and it was an 8oz fillet steak, perfectly cooked, mine with small baked potatoes and my husband’s with french fries. A glass of sommelier recommended red wine was a perfect accompaniment. Dessert was a Spanish specialty whose name I can’t remember but was a mix of bread and butter pudding and French toast with a toffee sauce - delicious. It was so good we returned the next night and another superb espresso martini, then halibut and monkfish as main courses, and tarte tatin for dessert, with an excellent white wine. The food was superb, the staff welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere was total relaxation and comfort.
