forgot to top up our hot drinks and towels after cleaning the room. took several calls before it was done with apologies too..other than that very nice hotel and would stay here again 😀

A VERY BAD experience with The Strait Hotel & Suites!
There was NO air-con when me and my family stepped in the hotel rooms!
The shower curtain was spoilt, lights in bathroom was very dim, floor was not clean and the door to the balcony could not lock! ( Which it supposed to be locked!)
At last, we had to change our stay to Noble Resort Hotel which is next to it!
I would like to ask for refund as me and my family did not stay for the three nights!

I book a 4 nights stay that comes with breakfast for 2 . For my child, i have to pay additional 20 ringgit. Nothing to shout about for breakfast. The food varieties is all same for 4 days. Location wise is OK. Around the hotels are many eateries. Wifi is horrible. It is near Dataran Palawan which is a short distance away to A Formosa and Jonker street. I will give this hotel a miss if I happen to visit Melaka again. For 62 Singapore dollars per night, probably there are many more value for money hotels around if you search hard enough.

We booked 1 x two king bed suite room for our family. Upon check in, was informed by the check in staff that we need to pay additional MYR10 per room per night if we are not local and applicable for booking through a third party agent like trip.com. Trip.com only indicated an additional total of MYR$6, but we had to pay MYR60 as the room is a connecting room, not 1 suite room for 3 nights. We were not informed of this extra fee and likewise the staff mentioned that many guests were also unhappy about it. So pls be aware that there is additional tax charges.
When we step into the room. It felt like the room has been vacant for ages. Layers of dust on the floor and table, room has a musty smell. However, it was really quiet so we had a restful sleep. The room was dated and balcony has glass shattering. Not much guests staying as most rooms were empty. It was still functional if you don’t mind the above.
The breakfast restaurant is at the newer Noble Hotel just beside, food was ok but cold. Location is quite a walking distance to jonker st. about 15mins. With kids in a tow, taking grab is a better option. Personally i feel there are better options.
