Aqua Hotel Silhouette & Spa - Adults Only

The Aqua Hotel Silhouette and Spa is an oasis in Malgrat de Mar: Immaculately maintained and impressive grounds and pools; Well appointed, quiet and comfortable rooms; An excellent team in all areas who are professional, engaging and knowledgeable; First rate gym and spa facilities; Good location for access to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars; My particular thanks to the charming ladies and Erik, Marc, Lucas and Pol in the Silhouette bar who delivered a superb, friendly service and helped to make my stay at the hotel such an enjoyable one.

Spent a lovely 5 days here at the beginning of April. We booked a penthouse double room which was located on the 7th floor. Pros - Modern, clean and excellent finishes. The hotel in well designed with great indoor and outdoor spaces. - Plenty of sunbeds! There was no rush and no need to reserve sunbeds. We did go off peak so this may have helped. - We got a complementary 2 hour spa visit which we very much enjoyed on our last day. - Food was excellent as far as 4* hotels go. Good variety and quality. We enjoyed having a lot of seafood but there were plenty of veg and meat options. We booked on a half board basis and bought food from the pool bar at lunch time. There were plenty of options but we pretty much had pizza everyday! There is also a sushi bar during selected days and hours and we really enjoyed this! - Cocktails were well made, using branded spirits and was reasonable priced. - 5 min walk to the beach - Room was large with a huge bed and big bathroom space. Plenty of amenities including shampoo, body lotion, body wash. - There are 3 pools! With one heated to a lovely 24C. Cons - I’m not sure if it’s not the ‘season’ yet but the aircon in our room was not working and was told it was functioning as a heater. The avg daily temperature when we were there was around 24C so the room got very hot! We were given a fan which helped a little but still made our stay uncomfortable. Weirdly, we tried the aircon again on our third night and it was working fine. - There is not much to do around. The town is very tired looking with no atmosphere. - The indoor bar staff could be a bit friendlier and more attentive. Have recurrently found others to be served before us even though we were sat first. Tables were not cleared or cleaned in a timely manner. This is a shame as all other staff were friendly, smiley and always willing to help. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it was definitely great value for money. Would love to see this hotel perhaps in a livelier town.
