"BAR: We stayed in the Reymar hotel for 6 nights. We stayed there because my daughter had basketball. I’ll start off with a high. The bar was amazing. The drinks were nice good price. The bar staff were extremely friendly and they could do cool tricks. It’s always the same workers working day and night. They run around the place giving people their drinks and cheques. FOOD: As an Irish person I just lived off of chips and bread rolls most of the week. The odd time there was a chocolate fountain, pizza, burgers. There was a good enough selection of food just that I didn’t like it. STAFF: The staff working at the buffet were extremely rude. You needed a blue card to get in and they mark off every time you came in so you would only get 1 meal and didn’t come in several times. They are very strict which is fair enough but it went to the fact that they made my daughter cry. There was 2 people on the card and she was trying to explain that only 1 person was coming in now and the other later but they started shouting at her angrily in Spanish. She didn’t know what they were saying and they didn’t know what my daughter was saying but just kept shouting. After awhile I heard them and went to check to see what was happening and my daughter was crying. I’d never want that to happen to anyone else so I just wanted to say that. To make matters worse the 2 women (1 with short red/purple hair and the other blond with glasses) kept staring at us there next day whispering and laughing. None of them knew English. RECEPTION: There was a few receptionists. They were all extremely helpful. Most had decent English. They were always there to help. ROOMS: Rooms were very basic. The beds were all single and some pushed together. The rooms were small enough. You have to bring what you need eg. iron, shampoo, conditioner. The beds are really lovely and the pillows are too. You immediately sink into them. POOL:The pool was amazing. It’s a bit small but when we were there it was very busy and there was still a lot of room. There is a lovely hot tub and jacuzzi and a sauna. There aren’t many lounges but they aren’t really needed. ENTERTAINMENT: The entertainment in the evening was very good. There was a lot of elderly dancing to all old Spanish music that as Irish we didn’t know. But if we were to go to an Irish hotel we would probably want Irish music. There was a very good atmosphere and a lot of time for a nice o’l dance. The only thing I will say is if you have young children or want to go to bed early it can be fairly noisy. THINGS TO DO: There is a lot to do. There is a train passing by that can take you even to barselona. There is a lot of streets with lovely shops bars and restaurants. There is an amusement park just 5 mins walk. There is a beach that you have to go under a tunnel to get there. There are inflatables just there on the beach that are really fun. The water can get pretty deep very quickly. The waves are very big in the evening and you can "

"Hotel was absolutely fine, slides and splash park was great for the kids. Food is your standard all inclusive! No1 will go hungry! Good location to walk down the strip. The entertainment is non existent so could do with improving! All in all you get what you pay for and I would return as a cheap getaway!"

"I will give an honest review of the hotel. For the price, it’s fine. We stayed at the 4 star Hotel Papi Blau which incidentally uses the same reception, restaurant and pool area as the 3 star Hotel Papi but has better rooms we were told. Reception and communal areas are clean, check was fairly easy, one nice receptionist, one not so. Went to room on 4th floor, key would not work so back to reception for that to be sorted. Fusty smell in room and no electricity, back to reception yet again. No other room available but was promised cleaner to check out the smell, never came. Safe was 5 euros per night but did not work so guess what, back to reception for refund on safe payment!! By booking direct we became members of the Papi family but still had to ask for our welcome cocktail which was a drink token to use at the bar, this should be given upon check in and should not face to be asked for. We also had to ask four times for the late check out also advertised for Papi members and were told there was still a charge of 20 euros. Luckily the young blond girl did sort this for us. Air con in room worked to a degree but didn’t really cool the room despite making the right noises. Bathroom looked new and great shower however heavily stained toilet seat underneath. Towels changed daily and room serviced. Pillows like rocks. Breakfast was edible, nothing special but very busy some mornings. Tables very close together and queues to get in Bar area is good and drinks/food reasonably priced. Bar staff good especially Anna and Edgar who were a pleasure to speak to, the management should be proud of them. Pool kept clean and although I didn’t witness them many people spoke of the sunbed wars at 9am once the doors were opened. Lifeguard present around the pool. Entertainment team good with a variety of activities ongoing, pool inflatable, foam party, face painting and bingo to name a few. Location good, near the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby All in all, for the price it was fine. It’s certainly not 4 star but the basic needs are covered, bed, shower and breakfast."

"Please note - 1. The only two lifts are TINY and ANCIENT. During our stay one of the two lifts collapsed - injuring the people inside - two ambulances had to be called to take the injured people inside to medical aid. 2. Reduced to one tiny lift instead of two tiny lifts most people including those on 6th and 7th floors were reduced to taking the stairs with prams and luggage 3. There are no fridge, hair dryer, kettle in the room. 4. Treat the salad with caution - the sweetcorn was off for example 5. They turn off the coffee machine and water machine at dinner time to compel you to buy water when you are super thirsty with the salty food. 6. There are no parasols at the pool with the sunbeds - it’s all just open sun."

"These apartments are by far the best self catering I have stayed in. Came to Malgrat de Mar last year and stayed in a hotel on the front which we did not enjoy. The Iris is perfectly located at the start of old town with a spar right next door, the beach a couple of yards away. Apartments are modern, clean, roomy and very comfortable with great WiFi provided as well as air-conditioning, a safe is provided for a small payment It's a one bed apartment with a pull out sofa in the living area but as there were only 2 of us we didn't need it. The beds were really comfortable, bedding and towels really clean and extra provided in wardrobe which was a full proper wardrobe The only thing missing was a full length mirror and the balcony fell a little unsafe, tho my partner assured me the slope was nothing to worry about. Definitely well worth money which wasn't a lot and definitely well worth a stay - the people who own it and run it are so so lovely, you will not regret a stay here, will definitely return"

"The sumus monteplaya hotel is a beautiful hotel. The staff are exceptional, from reception to the bar they are all highly professional. The breakfasts were delicious, something for everyone. The pool area is spotlessly clean & there was always somewhere to sit within the hotel premises. A previous review said you had to go back to your room to use the bathroom. There are toilets by the pool area just not clearly signposted. The Saturday cheese & wine session was lovely in the Zen garden. We had a fantastic few days away & would like to thank all the hard working staff. You were all absolutely brilliant 🤩"

"This hotel was a nice budget hotel. It was on the main strip meaning there were lots of shops and cafes around. It was also very close to the beach. The bar service at the hotel was amazing and the entertainment in the night was a DJ who got everyone up dancing. There were a few sun loungers around the pool but it was hard to get one Overall we loved it here and would return in the future."

"I can understand all the negative reviews on this hotel, we went for a week 18th August with 3 children ages 12, 10 and 5, and we had a great holiday. The pools are great for children, the hotel and grounds are well maintained, Food there was plenty of choice in the restaurant and plenty of choice in the snack bar, our room was lovely. Only thing I would say is evening entertainment could be improved."

"Positive: Tasty and well-presented food, good bar, beautiful pool, friendly people at the bar and reception. We are here for a sports event, which is probably not always pleasant for the staff; nevertheless, they remain friendly and professional. Negative: Rooms are old-fashioned and very basic. But above all, not a clean room. Very dirty under the bed and on the bathroom furniture. Dust and dirt everywhere. Beds, sheets, and towels were clean, though. Toilet and bath/shower were also clean."
