I don't normal write reviews of hotels, but I just got back from the Rural Son Mas with my children, and I was so impressed with the hotel I wanted to write a review. From the minute we arrived, everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The building itself is beautiful and has been thoughtfully restored. The grounds are phenomenal, and the view from the pool was lovely and so relaxing. Dinner in the evening was cooked to order and was delicious. So was the breakfast. If you are looking for a charming, family orientated hotel which is non corporate and very personal, I would totally recommend the Son Mas. We can't wait to return.

Absolute Ruhe, ein wirklich schönes Ambiente, sehr großzügige Zimmer, eine gute Lage im Südosten der Insel - das alles war schon vor Anreise auf der Internetseite ersichtlich, war aber in Realität noch schöner. Überraschend für uns war die Qualität des Abendessens. Man wird morgens informiert, welches Menu man abends haben kann und wir haben das zweimal gewählt und haben wirklich ausgezeichnet gegessen. Das Restaurant ist da durchaus auf dem Niveau der besten Restaurants bspw. in Portcolom. Preislich wie das Hotel natürlich auch kein Schnäppchen (ca. 44 EUR für ein 3-Gänge-Menu) aber wirklich gut. Der Pool ist nicht beheizt und im Oktober natürlich schon ein wenig kalt, da war das Meer wärmer. Der Service war außerordentlich freundlich.

As always, perfect! I have been at son Mas 5-6 times and I have never been disappointed. It’s small hotel in the countryside, very peaceful and calm. About dinner, they have a menu, 2 starters an 2 main courses that you’ll have to choose between. But I promise you, it’s not a problem! Enjoy your stay! Peter

The hotel is Fab but there wasn’t staff around… when we wanted to call a taxi sometimes no one was at the Reception. The food could be great sometimes and sometimes not. The staff couldn’t speak to much English but understoodable. Beautiful view

Third visit - love this place ! Go here to decompress …relax and just enjoy it…best pool and quiet! Some of the best food on the island …pretty much eat here every night! Lovely room..we always get the same room .::and the staff are the best ! The other side of the Majorca experience….the best!

Beautiful property in very quiet surroundings. Breakfast and dinner excellent, waitresses were lovely and very helpful. Reception a little odd and not very visible. Beautiful pool and gardens. Rooms were excellent with their own terrace with lounges. Would definitely go back.

We came to Son Mas last year for six nights, half-board and rebooked immediately after we left.
Boutique high-quality hotels in the country is absolutely our thing and this lovely Son Mas Hotel Rural does not disappoint. From the stunning tranquility of the infinity pool overlooking open countryside to our beautiful suite with a private terrace it is just the most wonderful place to stay.
If you do go half-board, make sure you don’t have a big lunch.

From meeting Ingmar at reception right through to the check out it was a wonderful stay. My wife and I use this type of boutique hotel all the time as our preference and Son Mas is up with the best of them. A huge junior suite as standard, massive comfy bed, lovely staff (big hello to Ingmar, Cynthia and Mercedes) give the feeling of space and quiet.
Breakfast; ample, varied and the cooked-to-order part was done very well, every single day.
Dinner; We took the half board, but be warned, do not have snacks before dinner because the portions are huge. We are proper foodies, so the cooking can be comfortably rated as good bistro standard with a touch of flair. The wine list is very well priced indeed but the by-the-glass options are too limited.
Grounds; just so open, so calm and superbly kept. It's a beautiful site to walk around and the farm house main building is elegant and inviting.
COVID; well done one and all, perfect. My wife is in the 'clinically extremely vulnerable' group and we both felt totally at ease.
Beaches; so close and easy to get to, all of them with ample parking, at least at this time of year (1st week October).
