It’s a low cost room. It’s on canal street. I’ve stayed before, which was pleasant. This was not so good. Was given room 9. Positives: Clean room Amazing powerful shower The issues: The biggest issue was access to the building when the pub downstairs is closed. I was given the wrong front door key, which was changed. When I attempted to use the key, it did not work. I was effectively locked out. There was no on site staff after 8pm. I was lucky a resident came in and saw I’d been knocking with no answer, otherwise I would have been locked out. I complained the next day and was told the key mechanism needs to be lifted when you put the key into the lock. It does not alter the fact I could not come and go to access the hotel as I’d have liked and had to not go out to join my friends later. Hotel access is fundamental. There is also a £20 cash deposit for the room key I was not made aware of. There is a socket at the end of the bed, but not ideal if you want to charge your phone and use it at the same time. The view was a brick wall. The bathroom had small damage to the floor. Room 9 and the key issue did not make for an enjoyable stay. That said, it’s cheap, clean and in a prime location, but there are better hotels out there that don’t have access issues and do have better layout / facilities. My complaint falling on deaf ears didn’t help.

The room was absolutely freezing, the heating was on, but as low as you can have it. Had to pay a deposit for the keys, £20. . I didn’t have that on me so they suggested I leave one of my bank cards, I didn’t mind doing that but as I was at a meeting at work I was up early. I went to find a member of staff to hand back the keys and retrieve my card and was met by the cleaner to say no one will be here until past 8am. There was no way to get my card back if I’d have paid the £20 instead I’d have not travelled 27 miles to reclaim either. Nothing in the terms to say a deposit is required either. . I’m still suffering from frost bite now. NEVER again. I’ve now to cancel my card and get a replacement.

It is not a hotel. It’s a last minute refuge. I had no idea it would be open until 6am. My room was shaking until 6. It was that loud, it was probably comparable to the blitz. The bottle bins getting emptied till 7. The cleaners banging from 7-11. Drunk and high customers shouting in hallways. It’s actually the most appalling visit to a hotel I have ever had. Good if your 21 and snorting and drinking. Otherwise no. Only go sun-Thursday if you want any sleep.

Absolute a no moral hotel, my friend went to pick a customer up from the hotel in his taxi and got a fine, are you for real..your customer paid for the hotel and wanted a taxi to the airport and you call bailiffs to his house for not paying the fine. What a shameful act this is daylight robbery says a lot about your hotel. No wonder nobody stays there I'm afraid Stay well away as if they can do that what other things are they capable of.

I feel that this is advertised as a hotel, while it’s just a horrible party hostel. Even youth hostel are more quiet than that. Rooms are right above the club, no way you’ll be sleeping if you’re not passed out drunk. Bathrooms are dirty. Just horrible.

I made a reservation through Booking. com, securing a room at a rate of £30. I subsequently received correspondence from the hotel indicating that the room had been mistakenly priced and they requested either a cancellation, rebooking at a higher rate, or selecting a double room for £44. In response, I expressed my willingness to be adaptable and to opt for the double room, while also inquiring if they could uphold the originally agreed upon £30 rate. The hotel's response was simple ‘No’, with further messages conveying that they would rather leave the room vacant. Having been a repeat guest at this hotel and their bar on numerous occasions, I held the expectation of a more favourable reply, particularly given their long-standing presence in the industry. While I acknowledge the possibility of errors, I found the nature of their response to be both unwarranted and discourteous.

I wouldn’t say this was the worst place to stay but it’s not the best either. Here’s my honest review…. Pros: Location. Central Manchester on the corner of canal street. Excellent. Clean Comfy mattress Cheap Cons. Extremely noisy Broken bed frame Cold No curtains Stayed here for a night with some friends. Thankfully I’d had a drink and packed an eye mask so I managed to get some shut eye but the noise is tremendous. It’s above a pub/bar which (on a Thursday night) played music until 2:30am. When the music stopped, I hoped the revellers would leave straight away, no such luck. Laid awake until 3:30am listening to shouting, arguing, singing etc… My bed was comfy and aside from the noise, I had a decent sleep. The room was really cold when we got in, I was frozen but the heating must have come on in the night as I warmed up. The room was really clean, I cannot fault that. Nice bedding and fresh towels. I had a shower and it was spotlessly clean. Would I stay here again? Yeh, in a group with the girls, I would do. It was everything we needed. Romantic/business trip, then no. The only thing I really did not like was the drag act in the bar downstairs. The “compère” was awful and we really did not appreciate his joke when dedicating a song to Diana which lyrics described a car crashing into a bridge. Extremely distasteful. He should be ashamed.

This was the worst night I ever spent in a hotel in my life. Firstly - the noise. I knew I was staying in a hotel with a bar downstairs and going on a night out ourselves, it was not unreasonable to expect noise until 2:00, maybe 3:00 but oh no, this was like trying to sleep on the floor of a dancefloor until it closed at 6:00!!! And even then that wasn't the end. Another hour of people dispersing and listening to their drunk conversations followed. Throughout the night I was constantly having to listen to other disrespectful guests having conversations outside my door, it was like being in some grotty hostel. I kept going to the door and telling them how inconsiderate they were. And it wasn't just the guests who had no consideration. I even heard conversations between staff in the hallway during the night, even they can't be bothered to have any consideration whatsoever for their customers. And these conversations on top of feeling like I'm in the nightclub while I'm trying to sleep. Let's look at other aspects of the hotel. Check in - We arrived at the venue which is very confusing and the rude woman at the bar shouted for us to go upstairs for the hotel. We roamed the corridors and eventually found the tucked away reception room. We got the room key and asked for 2 extra pillows. The pillows never materialised. 2 hours later I went to reception again to ask for pillows, no-one there. I tried again an hour or so later, no-one there. There is a phone number, I called twice, no answer. Later in the evening I bumped into a member of staff in the corridor and asked for more pillows, they never materialised. I did this again and eventually they arrived, although they could literally fold in half and belonged in the bin several years ago. The room was ridiculously warm and we couldn't open the window because if we did we had even more noise from the drunks outside. The view from the window was of a fire exit of another building the drunks used as a urinal. The bed was uncomfortable, the type of mattress that should've been replaced years ago that I expect at places like Britannia. The TV had no channels tuned in!!!!! It didn't seem like it was even connected to an aerial. I had to sign up for ITV Hub on my phone so we could watch anything to try and drown out the noise since there was no chance of actually getting any sleep. There was handwash in the shower!!!! Checkout - Nobody at reception. A cleaning lady very rudely shouted to us 'Ring number' instead of actually getting a member of staff to check us out. It's no wonder they make you leave a deposit for the room key when they don't staff the reception area. I had to call the hotel to ask someone to check us out. This hotel is an absolute joke. From the rude staff to the poor rooms to the noise levels. They have no business running a 'hotel' in the same building as a nightclub open until 6am. It should be closed down. Best of all it's not even cheap!!!!! I note their response
