Spectacular renovated Palazzo! The owners are kind, refined and perfect hosts. Stay here on your trip to Mantua you will not regret it.

To begin Claudio and his mother Signora Luciana are high stature people and their B&B reflects this. She is charming, an absolute delight and he is very resourceful and they both insure you'll have a most pleasant stay. Traveling across smaller towns in Italy for several weeks, this was the highlight! Their place is warm and historically charming, an unforgettable experience. Is there a nicer B&B in Italy? On our recent trip through Italy, staying at the Palazzo Arrivabene far stands out as the best hotel experience, we stayed at! Upon arrival we were overwhelmed with the beauty and elegance of the restored Palazzo of which there are common rooms, and a balcony is which you are invited and encouraged to sit and use on your own. Our room was quiet, comfortable and very clean. The owner, Signora Luciana and her son, Claudio though are the heart of this establishment. Rarely have I been so received with such a warm and elegant welcoming! At breakfast in the morning Signora Luciana herself was present making sure we had everything we needed and even sharing some of her recipes with other guests. Claudio personally made a phone call for me to arrange a meeting with a mutual friend who lives in Mantova. I encourage anyone considering staying here or even making a trip to Mantova to decide to do it and stay at this establishment you will not be disappointed and pleased that you did. A word of warning is that this Palazzo does have some stairs but if possible and you can manage them it is well worth it! Two night stay. We are very glad we stayed there and would do it again. Highlights: - location is quite good; 7 minute walk from train station, and 10 minute walk to Palazzo Ducale and busy piazza areas - very friendly and warm welcome; service was great - clean and comfortable stay - free run of the house; we enjoyed sitting in their amazing foyer, living room/library and terrace - our room was up on 3rd floor; no elevator - wifi was a bit spotty at times - breakfast was varied and fresh; the owner’s mother would bake fresh tarts and make zabaglione for breakfast!

What a great stay in this beautiful 14th century palazzo, only a short stroll from the centre. Upon arrival, Claudio was waiting at the entrance. I arrived a little early but I was offered a coffee and a brief history of the palazzo (which has been owned by the family since 1961) while my room (which was huge, with high ceilings and a 14th century door, which you don’t come across in a hotel too often!) was being cleaned. The palazzo was adorned with paintings, grand fireplaces and colourful sculptures. I was well looked after (like a duke) and even enjoyed a bottle of iced Prosecco by the roaring, log fire. Claudio and his mum were both lovely. Step back in time and immerse yourself in this beautiful, historic palazzo. You won’t be disappointed. I certainly hope to return!

This wonderful Palazzo built in the 1500's is full of antiquity and charm. Beautiful rooms finely decorated, frescos and old paintings on the walls, and grand staircases. Four levels of stately elegance--extra large rooms beautifully furnished. Bathrooms are modern and function perfectly. WiFi was great but there are no TV's and no elevators, so be prepared to climb a few stairs. Caudio was great and very very helpful, and his gracious mother prepares the beautiful Italian style breakfasts in the lovely old dining room. Located just on the edge of old town and only a short walk to the main square of Muldova. Public parking is convenient and a close walk. You will not regret your stay here!!
