Doringpoort Lodge

A huge house like in a Disney cartoon - animals are everywhere :) Marloth Park is a unique wildlife+accommodation project. The town and its villas are drowned in trees and bushes full of animals roaming around. We were excited to see giraffes, kudu, warthog, zebras, impala, wildebeest, monkeys and other animals all around the village. They roam freely, so meeting them everywhere is a part of staying in Doringpoort lodge :) The house itself has 3 bedrooms, a huge dining/living room, 3 bathrooms with 2 showers, a fully equipped kitchen with all the dishes and utensils, a BBQ area and and outdoor dining hall - all with fantastic wooden handmade designer furniture and some antique items. The beds are comfortable, there's always electricity available as they have a generator on the property, European sockets, Wifi and hot water. There were no mosquitoes in our rooms. The pool is 3 by 2 metres, very nice to realx after a day of safari. Kruger Park is right across the river from Marloth Park, and Crocodile River Bridge Gate into the park is 20 min drive. We walked 100m to the river and saw the animals of Kruger park there - Hippos, elephants, buffalo and a multitude of birds... In the evening, while we were making a BBQ, Bush babies came to visit - we fed them bananas :) We also visited a wildlife park right in the middle of the village - Lionspruit reserve. It takes 2-3 hours to drive around, and we saw all kinds of wonderful wildlife very close to us... Amazing! Marina, the manager of Doringpoort, was always there for us. The cleaning was every day, everything was very tidy and efficient. Thank you very much for such an unforgettable experience! · The property exceeded our expectations :)

We were friendly received by Merina and Halston and they looked well after us. The unit was comfortable, well equipped, neat and cleaned every day. We can without any doubt recommend Soetdoring. Potential visitors must be aware that the last 500m of the road is challenging and that the en-suite bathroom is small. We will definitely be back.

We had a very relaxing time. Enjoyed the quietness and also the nature around us. We will definitely use this facility again. The wifi just doesn't pick up at the point where we have stayed but haven't bother us due to the fact that we were there to rest. But is definitely something to look at for others

to sit in comfort and a relaxed environment and have wild animals of every type, culour and species almost within arms reach is a experience everyone should have in there lifetime and Dooringpoort offers this. Cant wait to go back

We were very happy to have found Dooringport. The home was very clean. Well laid out and lots of amenities that I have an expected. We had great communications with the property manager, Marina. She went out of her way to help us when we were without a car. It was amazing seeing the animals walk up in the backyard around the swimming pool and Marina brought bananas and yogurt tempt that push babies down to the table so we can experience their delightful behavior.

This lodge is located very close to the Crocodile river, which gives you a possibility to reach it withing a couple on minutes and watch the animals coming to the river from the Kruger park. The small house we stayed in was a bit small but contained everything we needed, including the kitchen and bathroom with a shower. There was a roofed fireplace nearby with a table, where it was possible to grill. The room service worked well, and the room was cleaned up every day. Some pieces in the house looked a bit old., but all was functional. Not much storage for the personal belongings. We had a great stay!

We had a fantastic time at Doringpoort Would absolutely come again the tours they organize was spot on for a international visitor the problems that did happen were out of their control and was sorted very quickly and professionally. Thanks for an amazing trip for my Uk friend and many memories made.

During our 4 night's stay everything was to perfection. Neat, clean, tasteful inside en outside the chalet. Hosts and staff were friendly all the time. We were mesmerized by the animals that visit us - wildebeests, giraffes, kudus and zebras to mention only a few. The bush babies never seized to visit us while braaing at night.

I celebrated my 60th birthday at this gem with family and friends.(15 in total) From the 1st email to the last goodbye wave,Colin,Carien,children and staff were amazing. From the quick and efficient responses,the accommodation,the setting,the service,the food,the care and kindness that were given to each of us was outstanding. It was the most stress free and organized celebration I have ever hosted. Thank you Colin and your team for making this happen.Thank you for turning my vision into an unforgettable reality. I made the most beautiful memories to last me during this lifetime and beyond. Thank you
