"The guy who welcomed us was kind, but unfortunately I have to say that the place is absolutely not as well-kept as you see in the photos... Those photos they uploaded are certainly from a few years ago because now it is very unkempt both outside and inside.... Then the road to get there is a disaster, and even if you manage to get to Merlot Park slowly, there are still plenty of other lodges.... In short, it's not that I don't recommend it, but maybe I would first look carefully at other options."

My family of four stayed in a single Bush Camp chalet with five beds, wonderful amenities, turn down service and the food at the main hotel is exceptional, including outdoor barbecue nights with freely roaming, bush buck, warthogs and even baboons. They served delicious breakfast and dinner and provide trips into Kruger as needed. Overall, the best place to stay when visiting Park."

"We wanted accommodation just outside the Kruger Park and Marloth Park is a good base. The rooms are spacious. We had supper both nights (there are few eat-out options in Marloch Park) and the food was well cooked even though there is no choice. Breakfast was cooked to order on the day we didn't have an early start."

Dream of Africa Bush Lodge

"I can't say enough good things about my experience at Dream of Africa, and wish I was able to stay longer. It starts with being in an ideal location to see Kruger, in the Marloth Park area, an easy 90 minute drive from the airport in Nelspruit, and very close to the Crocodile Bridge Gate. I saw much more wildlife from this part of the Park than I did my one other visit to the area around Hoedspruit. And there is wildlife to be seen right on the grounds of the Lodge! There's a resident croc in the pond out back and warthogs and antelopes constantly grazing in the backyard. A leopard even came through one night during my stay, but unfortunately I was away. But my favorite were the bush babies who live in a bird house on the back patio and come out every night for a quick banana snack before going out for the night to hunt. I never got tired of watching them. The Lodge is immaculate and rooms comfortable and clean, and Neil and Val are outstanding hosts. Every small detail was looked after, and they were even nice enough to voluntarily wash tar off my rental car so I wouldn't potentially be charged for it! I wouldn't think of staying somewhere else for a future stay. One final detail that I liked as a solo traveler, there was the ability here to book in on a small group safari as well as private ones...almost exclusively in other Kruger locations as a single traveler I was potentially being forced to pay for my own vehicle making safaris expensive. So glad I found Dream of Africa!"
