Riad Karmela

Lovely hidden riad in the earth of the Medina. Not super easy access due to to the maze of the Medina but staff is very friendly to help you to find it plus a taxi spot is not far! (Be careful at the airport to negotiate to arrive as closer as possible, not at Jamal fna) We tried massage and facial treatment both prettyiii nice with friendly masseuse. Staff is extremely helpful and smiley, very good point! Room are very authentic and the riad very charming.

My family & I stayed for 3 nights in ‘Haroune’ apartment. The Riad is a beautiful calm oasis which is spotlessly clean & very welcoming. I have a gluten free diet & the Riad was fantastic at providing me with great options. We absolutely loved the food in our 3 night stay we had 2 lunches & 3 dinners there! The food is divine & beautifully presented. I’d never actually had a tagine before but it was superb! There were great dessert options too that my teenage kids thoroughly enjoyed. My only criticism would be that our apartment could definitely do with a bit of maintenance to approve its look. It wasn’t very pleasing on the eye, but has so much potential to look fantastic. The Wi-Fi in the room was terrible which was frustrating when I tried to FaceTime back home. Breakfast was very simple but we really enjoyed it. The highlight for me was the home made gluten free bread & cakes. It really was fantastic & I was really grateful for it. There are so many riads in Marrakech but I’m confident I booked one of the best ones. It is quite large & during our stay it appeared to be fully booked but there was always a lovely sense of calm. The staff speak excellent English & I must mention all the waiters at dinner who were fantastic & always had a genuine smile for us. I would 100% recommend Riad Karmela to all.

Beautiful Riad, an oasis of tranquility. Staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful, they really looked after us.Room was lovely. Food was excellent. Would happily recommend to anyone and would definitely stay there again. You cannot improve on perfection.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a girls holiday. The location was great - walking distance to everything. Rooms were very comfortable & service was amazing. Every member of staff was friendly & helpful & we were made to feel welcome from the very start of our stay. And the food in the restaurant was fantastic! We had booked to eat in the riad on our first night, as we were arriving early evening. However, we cancelled our last night booking at a restaurant so that we could eat in the riad's restaurant again. Everything was just great. I would love to return.

Lovely hotel and the staff are a pleasure. Ate at the hotel most nights and the food was great. Our room wasn't ready for the first night but it was so lovely and worth waiting for. We stayed in the Almansour room on the courtyard. March was a good time to travel if you don't like it too hot (24c on average). Don't be put off by negative reports of Marakesch - be sensible and there is no problem. You have to adjust to Marakesch but once you do, you'll love it.
