First impressions are so important. It was an overnight stay before we embarked on our tour of Morocco. As we arrived mid afternoon, we could hear from the street a resounding beat of music coming from the roof of the hotel. In the lobby you could even feel it beating through the entire hotel. This continued until 1am! Not acceptable in a ‘luxury’ hotel which 2Ciels is NOT! Our room was fine, clean quite spacious, everything worked though the bathroom with one small light was far too dark. We were told that from our balcony, we would be looking over the gardens, the pool, or the Atlas Mountains. We were overlooking a busy Main Street. The porter brought our luggage but his indifferent, even surly manner, despite receiving a good tip was surprising and disappointing. We ventured to the roof hoping to enjoy the pool and sunbathing area. The disco noise made it unbearable but the tiny pool with such restricted sunbathing facilities was so disappointing. We went to the other swimming pool on the ground floor, much larger but so uninviting. Completely in shade due to the high buildings around and again such a small bathing area. Breakfast was okay. Writing this review is depressing me again! Our experience of the 2Ciels was such a disappointing start to our holiday in Morocco. It is NOT a luxury boutique hotel, at best it is a 3star hotel. Guests should be warned of it also being a very, VERY loud discotheque which vibrates throughout the hotel and beyond until 1am!!
