From our check in and welcome experience we knew we were in good hands. Our gift bags with snacks and bottled water were a wonderful surprise. Our room was very nicely appointed and it was obvious that the staff take pride in their work. We traveled to Martinsburg along with other family members and close friends. This gave us the opportunity to view multiple rooms and everyone was pleased with their accommodations. Our breakfast was delicious and I really appreciated the sausage and gravy! It is one of my favorites. Other choices included yogurt, fruit, baked goods, hard boiled eggs, savory potatoes and individual omelettes. Overall it was a great experience and I’m confident that we will be booking the Fairfield in Martinsburg again in the future.

Front desk staff were truly wonderful. Was given much helpful information about area. I stayed in room 225 and the a/c was so noisy, it sounded like a jet engine turning in attempts to start. For a full minute, it would run up then finally the compressor would kick in and cool the room for a minute, then reach temp and shut off, only to do it again in about 15 minutes. I tried sleeping beginning at 8:30 pm and finally fell asleep at 7 am. The bed was very comfortable, so although I got little sleep, my body did get rest. The pillows were rather lumpy and uncomfortable, though. My big complaint was housekeeping. She set her cart beside my door and made so much noise in an apparent attempt to wake me. Her constant coughing immediate made me think of COVID19, so I was afraid to open my door. After she left my area, I left and as I was leaving, she approached me, maskless, to ask if I was leaving and if anyone else was in the room. I turned away from her but she kept coming closer. Yuck! She even looked sick. Other than the a/c and housekeeping, my stay was decent.

The location of the hotel is very good, there is a parking lot, breakfast is also good, suitable for children, there is a swimming pool, gym and business center.

I wrote a review of this hotel almost exactly one year ago. It's still a solid choice for a short stay. It's just a bit more aged. You'll see stains on the carpets, dings in the furniture, and a few more signs of a hotel facing the same staffing challenges all others are facing. It's clean, comfortable, and well-manged in spite of these things. One thing that has not changed is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They go out of their way to make check-ins, check-outs and requests efficient. They do it with a smile and it makes you feel very welcomed. A few minor things to know if you're wondering whether to stay here: The pool is in a semi-permanent state of ”under repair.” So if that's important to you, you may want to opt for the Springhill Suites next door. The Courtyard is a bit more tailored to the needs of business travelers than the Springhill next door. It has a larger lobby and cafe area with more seating. Since they don't offer a ”free” breakfast like the Springhill and their rates are a few dollars higher, the Courtyard tends not to attract as many large groups like high school and college sports teams or tours. Overall, it's one of the best options if you're passing through Hagerstown.
