The driving to the hotel at the break car station is a little complicated. That could have been made easier. Holiday Inn Express is located above the shop or restaurant from the car station. The reception there was very friendly. Check-in went relatively quickly. Although the room and bathroom were typically Holiday Inn Express small, but very clean and quiet. What we didn't like here was that the room and bathroom were quite cold. The possibility of being up to the room temperature control intended for this was not possible. There is a clear point deduction for this. Also a point deduction for breakfast buffet. We felt that in the Holiday Inn Express Hamburg-South was the worst thing we had known to the breakfast buffets of the Holiday Inn Express houses in Germany. The ”normal” breads were no longer available at 09.00 clock. The statement by the staff ”we will still be any re-order” did not use us. Aftershoot of sauce or cheese was only slow and that, Although there were only few guests in the breakfast area. Ruhei didn't give anything here. Like the room, the breakfast area was too cool to stay. The hotel is still relatively new and of course there can still be ”children's diseases”. But there are those that should not happen at all!

Wir haben hier zwei Tage zwischen den Feiertagen am Jahresende verbracht, als Basis in der Nähe von Hamburg, wo die Unterkunftspreise zu dieser Zeit völlig unrealistisch geworden waren. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in der Nähe der Fußgängerzone, so dass problemlos Restaurants und andere Geschäfte zu Fuß aufgesucht werden können. Es gibt einige (wenige) kostenlose Parkplätze, wir hatten Glück. Die Plätze in der Tiefgarage hätten gekostet, der einzige Vorteil wäre hier der direkte Zugang ins Haus gewesen. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist zwar nicht die neueste, aber völlig in Ordnung. Das Zustellbett war recht hart, falls es relevant sein sollte. Kleiner Kritikpunkt: durch unser Zimmer lief ein Schornstein, der in einer Nacht ständig Klappergeräusche gemacht hat (starker Wind, irgendeine Klappe?). Wir haben es ”überlebt”. Ansonsten war am Zimmer alles in Ordnung, von Betten über Steckdosen, Beleuchtung, Seife, Shampoo und ausreichend Handtücher (keine Selbstverständlichkeit!). Ein Auswahlkriterium für dieses Hotel war der Wellnessbereich, mit dem wir auch zufrieden waren. Bademäntel und Handtücher gab es an der Rezeption. Da das Haus relativ klein ist, ist auch der Weg im Bademantel vom Zimmer zum Wellnessbereich schnell zurückgelegt. Der Pool war quasi ganztägig bis spätabends verfügbar, angenehm temperiert und nie überlaufen. Von den drei Saunen waren zwei in Betrieb, leider erst ab 16:00, aber das war so angekündigt. Praktisch und in gutem Zustand waren die Umkleideräume mit angeschlossener Dusche. Das Frühstück war auch nach unserem Geschmack, mit einer ziemlich breiten Auswahl für fast jeden Geschmack. Neben den Basics wie verschiedenen Brötchen und Croissants, Aufstrichen und Belägen, Joghurts, Quark, hart- und weichgekochte Eier und Rührei (kein glibberiges Fertigei), Säften usw. gab es ein Waffeleisen zur Selbstbedienung. Der Frühstücksraum hatte reichlich Platz, trotz augenscheinlich gut gebuchtem Hotel. Zu guter Letzt, auch das Personal an der Rezeption war immer freundlich.

The lack of air conditioning in this hotel is really no big deal compared to others. Their baby cot is not clean, my child slept in their bed for two nights, he likes to sleep on his side and on his stomach, and his face is allergic to any part of the bed that touches the sheets. When I spoke to the hotel, they admitted that it was the hotel's responsibility and said that they could pay for an ointment so that I could go to the pharmacy and buy it myself. Amazingly, almost all the staff at the hotel had a very poor attitude, didn't care about the child, privately divulged personal information about the residents as a topic of discussion at work (every staff member knew about our personal matters/information, even those I had never seen) and even asked me if you wanted to call an ambulance for such a small matter. I cancelled my whole day plam and took a taxi to the pharmacy, which cost over 60 euros, and in the end the hotel only gave me 5 euro for the ointment, saying that I took a taxi to a pharmacy that was too far away and they couldn't cover the taxi costs, and the manager said that the only place they could pay for was a taxi to 10 euros, so they refused to pay for the journey?？？ But they didn't say any of that before I left, I was just told to take my own taxi to the pharmacy and they knew we were leaving that day so they made a very perfunctory promise which was all overturned. The important thing is that I paid 100€ for this baby cot and it was still not clean, finally I spoke to the manager and I said I paid 100€ only to get the cot and he said you have checked out and everything is sorted I don't know what is in your room now? !!!Anyway don't bring your children to this dangerous hotel, the staff were very dishonest and went as far as to say the room had been cleaned to destroy the evidence.

Die Lage des Hotels mitten in der Lüneburger Heide ist fantastisch. Auch die Standardzimmer sind ausreichend groß und nett eingerichtet. Aufgrund der etwas verwinkelten Architektur und verschiedener (sehr schön eingerichteter) Frühstücksräume fällt der Größe der Hotels nicht unangenehm auf. Der Außenbereich ist sehr weitläufig, gepflegt und bietet Postkartenidylle. Speisen und Getränke sind ok, aber deutlich zu teuer. Hinsichtlich des Personals gab es riesige Unterschiede. Fast alle KellnerInnen waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, einzelne aber auch abweisend und unfreundlich. Wir fanden es teilweise irritierend, dass Besuchern, die keine Hotelgäste waren, ein Platz für eine Tasse Kaffee verwehrt wurde, obwohl offensichtlich viele Tische unbesetzt waren (und blieben). Wenn Café und Restaurant nur für Hotelgäste gedacht sind, sollte man das auch so kommunizieren. Insgesamt haben wir den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder.

Very friendly and premature staff! Also extra service (early breakfast for the children) was offered to us. A mattress had a great place, but this was also repaired immediately! Super location, centrally located in front of the doors of the city. You come with the metro everywhere and there are even 2 large shopping centres directly nearby. All in all a very nice hotel also for families!
