I reserved based on TripAdvisor reviews…good move!! A quaint, relaxed 2 night stay to visit family. The room was clean, comfortable and met expectations. It was a very warm day, very sorry I had not brought a swim suit. The pool looked great, a few other people there but not crowded. The front desk receptionist said “it has a 10 foot depth” Breakfast ( included) was spectacular! It is located in a separate building across from the motel. The “house” ( exactly what it felt like..someone’s house), is decorated antique/vintage. The furniture, wall decorations, table cloths, glass ware ( please see pics!!) were period related and simply gorgeous. Jayne was quite the added treat. Both mornings she provided excellent conversation, and she is a spectacular hostess and chef/cook. She was welcoming, like you were invited to her house for a meal. I really cannot say enough good about the whole breakfast experience. The garden was beautiful, Jayne recommended I take a look. Gazebo, benches, fireplace, etc, perfection! I will definitely hope for being able to stay here when I visit again!!

Staying at the Kirkwood Inn was like stepping back in time in a good way. The owner greeted you and wanted to get to know you and where you were coming from or going to. And although the rooms are dated, everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and you won’t find a more friendly, warm, and welcoming breakfast buffet than the one at Kirkwood Inn.

We have happily stayed at the Kirkwood several times over the last few years. Our innkeeper Sandy is a delightful host! She strives to provide the very best...& delivers! The rooms are impeccably kept and the breakfasts are tasty and gracefully set in a historic home on the property. This lovely home sits among gardens complete with tranquil fountain...just charming!!

This is a quaint little hotel, very clean and comfortable. The town of Lebanon is very close and we ate dinner and shopped there. The breakfast in the Kirkwood House was phenomenal! I can't recommend this place that is off the beaten path enough. We will visit again when the garden is in bloom for sure!

Hotel was out of the way, off the main highways, not as fancy as we're used to....but wow, what a nice surprise! Kind of quiet due to location, but that made it much more relaxing. Staff were very friendly, but the most AMAZING part was the breakfast! Much of it home-made and set up like a buffet in a house on the property. Went through a lot of hard work to make it presentable and delicious! I can see why it's rated "fantastic!" Definitely staying here next time we're in the Cincinnati area.

This is a lovely historic place to stay. Staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy. The breakfast at The Kirkwood House (built in 1799) was excellent. We felt almost like we were at a bed and breakfast. We want to return this summer when the pool is open and the garden and outdoor areas are lush. Highly recommend!
