Wasn't actually able to stay at the hotel sdue to an error in their system. The hotel were accommodating to try and get is booked in on 3 extra dates but unsuccessful. Refused a refund on the issue. Can't say alot more other than a shame we were unstable to stay.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights with family. But would say have had a worst experience of our life. The entire hotel is full of spider webs. The room is in a terrible state, with broken and rusty furnitures, broken bed, full of dust and spider webs. My little one got so much of rashes cause of the insects in the room. We booked breakfast with room and that was the worst choice ever. The breakfast consisted of ready croissants, pancakes, waffles and some stale cut fruits. No eggs nothing. Please do not book this hotel as you will be wasting your time and money. Rather look for some decent hotel.

This hotel is close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. Both are within around 20 minutes driving distances. It is located in a Matlock village, lots of walking routes you can enjoy.

Staff were helpful and friendly. When the steak wasn’t cooked as requested, this was taken off the bill. Would have been nice to have more veggie options. However staff were happy to go above and beyond to heat up food for us that had not been brought from the hotel. Would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact look forward to it.

Arrived for 7 nights left after 4. would never return. Staff no respect for the guests in a professional manner, and I had to get up twice between 11pm and 1am to quieten staff noise from the reception area as I was unable to get to sleep due to the disturbance. Very poor and dysfunctional facilities for disabled and elderly guests. No sufficient banisters and for a hotel of this size, no lift. My elderly relative was also unable to access either the bath/shower due to no handrail for help. We decided to go and have breakfast elsewhere due to the exorbitant prices for a basic breakfast. We will never return here for the high amount of money it cost me definitely not value for money! Suggest staff training immediately.

What a disappointment. As soon as I walked through the doors I knew it wasn't going to be good. The public areas were so shabby and scruffy. We had a superior double room, well I'd hate to see a standard double. The carpet in our room hadn't been vacuumed with melted parts where somebody had put an iron on the carpet and the surfaces were dusty. The bed linen was the poorest quality I have ever encountered. The bathroom windows were mouldy. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The evening meal was average at best, but breakfast was appalling. You had to pump hot water for tea out of a big flask type thing. In the short time we were there, there were no plates, coffee ran out, pastries weren't replaced. The scrambled eggs was a big solid slab of egg which made them inedible. I feel I was mis-sold this hotel. Don't be fooled by the photos and the hotel's own description of their hotel.

The radiator was turned off and still the bedroom was stifling . The cold water tap was hot too. Breakfast service was slow and the coffee was cold. Location is good as is parking.

Had a night away with a friend. Staff was lovely and the hotel was to a good standard. My only disappointment was having to pay £15 each for access to sauna, steam room and sauna. Nowhere in the description does it say it’s payable to access this area as a hotel guest. The standard of the Spa area was extremely poor. The hot tub was only 3/4 full and water was tepid, steam room was cold. Only 5 loungers and not big enough for all guests that was there. The sauna was nice and that was it.
Evebing meal was nice, lovely 3 course meal that was cooked very well.
