Wasn't actually able to stay at the hotel sdue to an error in their system. The hotel were accommodating to try and get is booked in on 3 extra dates but unsuccessful. Refused a refund on the issue. Can't say alot more other than a shame we were unstable to stay.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights with family. But would say have had a worst experience of our life. The entire hotel is full of spider webs. The room is in a terrible state, with broken and rusty furnitures, broken bed, full of dust and spider webs. My little one got so much of rashes cause of the insects in the room. We booked breakfast with room and that was the worst choice ever. The breakfast consisted of ready croissants, pancakes, waffles and some stale cut fruits. No eggs nothing. Please do not book this hotel as you will be wasting your time and money. Rather look for some decent hotel.

This hotel is close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. Both are within around 20 minutes driving distances. It is located in a Matlock village, lots of walking routes you can enjoy.

I don’t know what the bad reviews are all about because we couldn’t fault it. We had a lovely modern room in the main building, spotless bathroom and nice furnishings. Buffet breakfast was faultless with good quality ingredients and good selection of cooked, continental and gluten/dairy free options. Pool looked good but unfortunately didn’t get time to use😞

The best staff I’ve ever encountered. The food was good, the room comfy. But the staff went above and beyond every time. The owners should be proud they have such dedicated employees looking after the place. I’ll return because of their hard work looking after the customers.

The hotel had a good sized car park with plenty of parking spaces. The catering was of a high standard. The room was of a good size, with a comfortable bed. There was plenty of hot water for the shower.

Lovely location, short walk to the Fishpond pub, real ale and music. High point for us is the open water pool, no chemicals and really friendly pool staff. Breakfast exceptional. We'll be back!
