Heritage le Telfair Golf and Wellness Resort

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Heritage Le Telfair Hotel and it exceeded all my expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the attentive staff who ensured a smooth check-in process. The room itself was immaculate, with modern decor and all the amenities we could ask for. The dining experience was exceptional whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, each meal was impeccably prepared and served with a smile. The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. The hotel's facilities were also top-notch. We particularly enjoyed relaxing by the poolside, soaking in the sunshine and enjoying a refreshing swim. What truly set Telfair apart, however, was the exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Despite a small incident, the way it was handled left a lasting impression on me. Special thanks mainly to Ms. Henna , Mr. Jimmy and Ms. Jossy. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout outr stay. Overall, my experience at Telfair was nothing short of excellent. I would highly recommend the Hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Mauritius. I can't wait to return on my next visit!

Overall, we were pretty disappointed with the hotel especially as it was not cheap - overall score 2.5 out of 5. There were positive aspects such as; the coastal setting, colonial architecture, golf club and courses and the room sizes, however, outweighed by multiple negative aspects. These were particularly noticable as we were travelling with two children under three years. The level of service was abysmal. Most of the staff were clueless with poor training and lacking any attention to customer service. The personal butler service was equally poor with the butler changing three times during our seven day stay (without warning) and ignoring multiple messages or requests. The hotel is not set up for young children and trying to use prams was a nightmare (severe lack of access and multiple stair cases / steps and cobbled pavements). The food was average (at best) with multiple outlets serving the same thing, lots of fried, tasteless food.

Our stay was delightful, we are a family of 4 with two small kids under 5. There are so many activities and things to do that we wished we would have stayed longer than a week. Golf courses are beautiful with nice scenery as well. Some of the restaurants have delicious food. The kids club is very big with wide open space and activities, so it gave us the opportunity to have some time for ourselves (and golf) knowing they're having a good time. The only dowsides: Only one pool is heated, so we couldn't use the main pool (too cold during "winter). The beach is shallow, which was great with the kids but something to consider if your plan is to swim. Buggy transfer waiting time in the weekend is longer, so you need to plan and request the buggy ahead of time.
