"The staff were so friendly and attentive, the Executive Chef and main restaurant manager made sure my husbands dietary requirements were catered for. The resort offered so much and we really enjoyed the nature walk and water sports. Our only concern was the resort promotes its annal sanctuary for stay dogs as well as there chicken, rabbits and giant tortoises. The dogs living section was very poor just a dirt run with part covered roof, the dogs were also in need of a vet, (we were told it had been requested but no evidence the dogs had seen one) the chickens/ rabbits run had no roof so open to the elements and the chicken hut roof was broken and falling apart, for a resort that looks are its guests so well, it was sad to see the animal sanctuary promoted as part of the resort facilities for guests was not given a fraction of the attention guests received."

I recommend choosing a room on the second or third floor, as the entire building faces the sea, and the balconies all offer ocean views, though it can get a bit damp. The second and third floors are much less damp. The price-performance ratio is very high. I compared other hotels before, and they were all much more expensive. Overall, it was a very good accommodation experience."

"A piece of paradise! The location is amazing! The hotel is located between two popular, beautiful beaches: Mont Choisy and Trou aux Biches. There's a bus stop nearby to the north of the island and Port Louis. Also nearby (on the left, if you're facing the ocean) is a boat launch where you can go dolphin watching and swim with turtles. The sunrises here are breathtakingly beautiful – a must-see! We were greeted very warmly and warmly. We were checked in within 5 minutes, which was very important after a long two-day flight. The food was incredibly delicious! Special thanks to the chefs and all the restaurant staff, especially Brinda (quest relation) and Priscilla. Also, I don't remember her name, but there's a wonderful employee who speaks Russian. She's a very nice person and always helped with any questions. Overall, the entire staff is like one big family. During my stay on the island, I had a birthday, and the hotel staff very touchingly congratulated me on it and gave me a huge, delicious cake. I would happily return to this hotel!"

"The hotel has no equipped parking. You will have to leave your car on the side of the road. There is no beach as such. There is a breakwater with steps. But when swimming from it you can step on a sea urchin. Also, sometimes you can feel the current from the waves and this creates an additional level of discomfort when swimming. A very interesting place for snorkeling, but the nif is not alive and they are only trying to restore it."

"The hotel was extremely noisy with no soundproofing, and it smelled terrible; I could smell sewage while sleeping. The room was dirty and the facilities were old. The staff were very rude; the front desk staff were on their phones and ignored me, giving me a sour look and refusing to address any issues. I got bitten by mosquitoes more than a dozen times while eating breakfast in the restaurant. The problem was only resolved after Ctrip customer service intervened."

"We have just spent a week at La Margarita. Nice little hotel, very well run, in a warm atmosphere. All the staff take great care of the customers. There are only 18 rooms, spacious with efficient air conditioning. We were half board. The chef prepared delicious Mauritian dishes for us. For breakfast, I enjoyed the pancakes but there are other choices. The owner is present and finds us taxis for excursions. The only downside is the beach which is not great. You have to take the bus 50m away to go to Trou aux Biches to swim comfortably in a pretty setting. FYI, the bus is a great experience, very inexpensive. The Mauritians are incredibly kind. A lovely, sweet and pleasant holiday."
