Absolutely no complaints. Food, cleanliness and service all very good. Only issue would be the room price, however, I think this is more of an Irish economy issue rather than a hotel issue. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent 1st time experience in this hotel, friendly, professional staff in all areas including reception, restaurant, house keeping. Lovely room, cotton sheets, great in room amenities, nice common area on the 2nd floor. Separate shower and bath in ensuite. Overall I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I went here for food with my extended family on a Saturday afternoon. My brother had called the hotel earlier in the week to check if we would need to book (at that time he wasn't sure on exact numbers for lunch) and was told there was no need, that there would likely be enough space. I was the first to arrive with my 3 young children. Immediately the attitude from the restaurant manager was dismissive. She asked if I had a booking and I said no that my brother had called but had been told there was no need to reserve. She asked if it was for a communion and I said no just a few people wanting lunch. She seemed a bit irritable. I said I'd wait for the rest of my family to get there as i wasn't sure how many people were going to be arriving. People from our party started filtering in. In the end it was around 14 adults and 3 additional kids. The management staff in the restaurant started to get very frustrated. They said it would be at least an hour before any food would be served as we hadn't made a booking and there was a communion and a confirmation ahead of us. That is all very well and I can understand their frustration. However, there is a way in which this can be communicated to customers and their tone was rude and defensive. From the very start of me arriving into the restaurant with 3 small children, the attitude from the management staff was incredibly rude and not at all welcoming and it got worse as more people arrived. I had already ordered my food and the manager kindly served me and my children first which I appreciated. I told my sister in law that if she asked perhaps her small children would be served too as we all know how children can become when waiting around for food. Apparently when she requested this of the manager, she was told that it was just for me and everyone else would have to wait an hour. Everyone sat for their food but the attitude of the senior management was appalling in particular the female manager and one of the male managers, constant sighs if asking for something and tired looks in our direction. The junior staff were courteous and helpful. Upon going to pay my bill, I heard the female manager mutter something under her breath which sounded like "you'd know people don't work in the industry" after a member of our party had just paid. Small children who were playing in the restaurant were admonished and told "this isn't a playground". My nephew tried to order a bowl of soup and was told the kitchen weren't taking anymore orders and it would be at least an hour...for a bowl of soup?? At that stage we just laughed. I can appreciate how stressful it must be if a party of 15 people arrive in on a Saturday afternoon and the kitchen has to accommodate them but there is a nicer way to communicate this to customers without becoming defensive and rude. We are reasonable people but were made feel so unwelcome on Saturday which irritated me considering how much money was spent that day. We will not be returning. Fro

So just stayed at Kiltamagh Park hotel Nice clean hotel , Dinner was great food , large portions , very tasty but expensive ! Staff extremely friendly Bedrooms comfortable Would I book it for a long weekend break ? … No It has that airport hotel feel ..just a stop gap while enroute to somewhere else .. there are no facilities to entertain . There is no bar with comfortable seating to relax .. the bar is in the Restaurant and there is only one corner that has lounge tables and stools .. The walk into the town is on a winding road with no footpath ..TBH I didn’t see anything in kiltamagh to excite me . Good value as a base hotel for doing other things in north mayo but not a weekend away place
