This is fine for a basic hotel. A 10-15 min walk to the lift or wait for a bus. All this is very much acceptable as it reflects the price. However.. Day 2 a few people in the hotel were sick. I flagged this immediately to the hotel so they could take precautions, however nothing was done for 3 days, by which point the whole hotel were suffering. Everyone there missed at least 2 days of their holiday. I felt that this could have been avoided with a few basic procedures such as making people aware, hand gel and changing the breakfast setup.

I have stayed here a lot over the years. I love the welcome, good breakfast, swimming pool and sauna. I have stayed in the new part, rooms are excellent. In the older part, it is more dated, but fine for me. Bed is comfortable, shower works well, good maid service and room isn’t too hot. (I hate that). Location is perfect for Ski bus outside to lift station

A truly awful experience. The hotel was basic but we expected that. The room was not clean to start with, the tooth mugs still had toothpaste in and there were hair clips from the previous guests, not a biggie we could deal with that but..... 3 days into our holiday the entire hotel came down with norovirus. This in itself was pretty awful as you can literally hear everything through the walls, but once the hotel were made aware of what was going on there was no cleaning. We asked our ski rep to tell the hotel and they 'cleaned' or room using the dirty towel from our bathroom (we could see as we were on the balcony in agony at the time) without using any disinfectant and didn't bother to change the sheets. Do not stay here! Truly revolting

Really mixed feelings about this hotel. Great things - family room was huge with loads of storage, nice sized balcony and great bathroom and table and seating area. Location is great for ski bus and nice and quiet in evenings. Very close to zillatal train station too. Breakfast was fantastic with great selection every day. Rooms were cleaned every day. Not so great things- Being next to a petrol station all I could smell was petrol but I have super sensitive smell. The pool was grim. So much so we contacted TUI on our first day because it had a film of grime / oil and the water was murky and smelly. This seemed to be resolved within a day or two but after this the pool was freezing. The spa area was nice but should be noted is a traditional spa and my kids saw way more ***** men than anticipated on the way to the pool. Boot room / ski room - we were told off for using a locker each and were told it should be 1 between 2 people but as boarders the lockers were too small to just about fit one board in let alone two. The staff were frosty at best and not very welcoming. Simple things missing like do not disturb signs for doors - we had a period of illness and while trying to sleep during the day we were constantly having to tell staff we didn’t want the room cleaned. A little DND sign would have been helpful. No kettle in rooms, not a big issue but just rare these days and it’s handy to have. You can buy a hot drink from the machine downstairs (free at breakfast time) Shower and bath in rooms water was luke warm at best. Showers in spa were much better. Overall not bad but also nothing special.

I have literally no arguements with the standards and quality of this hotel. Is does exactly what you need it to. The room was clean and adequate for 2 adults and a child after a day's skiing. Breakfast was a standard selection of eggs bacon and a selection of fruits bread and cheese. The showers were good and again everything was clean. You can no expect Hilton luxury but I was more than happy with the quality for the price and week we had in the mountains. We was situation in the annex right next to the petrol station and we didn't smell petrol once even when the tanker was re fuelling. So id ignore the other reviews that say the smell is bad. The ski bus literally is outside the hotel which is a great benefit and only a short walk into town. The pool and spa area again was very clean and my lad spent most evenings in there. It was a safe environment for him and didn't feel at all worried about his whereabouts or surroundings. We've had a great week and I'll be coming back here for sure as there is more to explore.

We've just come back from a week skiing in Mayrhofen staying at Obermair. The staff were very welcoming and lovely. The spread for breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from and all really fresh and delicious! The beds were really comfy and well serviced each day. A little dated but everything else made up for it and was also exactly as expected from the photos. The spa area is really modern, clean and perfect place to come back to after a hard day skiing! The location for the ski bus up to the Penkin, the main lift in Mayrhofen was right outside and only takes a couple of minutes. Then the train and bus station were only a few minutes walk to be able to then access Zell am Ziller and Kaltenbach. Both really worth checking out! The staff were lovely and very accommodating with our check out day as we had a late flight. We were able to go off skiing and leave our luggage then were very kindly offered the use of the spa showers before we left. Thank you for a lovely stay, we've had a great holiday!

Just left today and wanted to say what a great authentic hotel. Had brilliant view from our room in main hotel overlooking the whole valley. Hotel had nice personal feel, not too big. Excellent location just short walk to buses and Zillertal train which stops along little villages in the valley. Short stroll to Mayrhofen itself. Room was fine for us, cleaned daily, yes, could possibly need a coat of stain on some of room woodwork, but I loved all the wooden features and character. Bathrooms are a bit 'vintage' but that didn't bother us. Communal areas have lovely austrian decor and very clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent, hot and cold, fruit, cereals, coffee, in a lovely breakfast room with doors to little patio. Would have liked a kettle in room, but everything else we loved and we hope to return. Didn't use the indoor pool but it looked nice for a dip. I'm missing my balcony view already! Thankyou.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic and offers such good value. Read Karl’s Jan 2023 review for an honest and accurate description of the whole set up. Myself and my teenage son booked a ski holiday with crystal approx £600 each. We arrived on Saturday evening at around 9pm. We had booked an annex twin room with balcony. The room we were given was ground floor no balcony. I spoke with Simon Obermair who without hesitation offered me a second floor room with balcony. He had allocated me a ground floor room as they had separate single beds at opposite ends of the room thinking that would be my preference. Our room was clean and the whole building has a chalet rustic feel which was perfect. The room was cleaned every morning with fresh towels offered. The spa facilities, sauna, steam room and pool are modern with towels and relaxing chairs provided. The beds were comfortable and rooms as quiet as you could expect in a ski chalet. The breakfast is 5 star with fresh fruit cereal, hot meats, cold meats, eggs scrambled/ fried/ boiled and freshly ground coffee and pressed orange juice to name a few options. It was also served over three hours from 0700-1000 and well stocked. The location is good right beside the ski bus stop which is came every few minutes so we didn’t need to hire a ski locker up the mountain. It was a two- three minute walk to the commercial/social part of the town. We did miss the ski bus one afternoon because we were in the pub and it took us 10 minutes to walk back in ski boots from gondola. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. In my experience of 25 years skiing this has been one of the best European Ski Hotels where I have stayed.

Great family run hotel we were looked after by the Obermair family. Great location for skiing 10 mins walk to the Penken gondola or you can take the bus just outside the hotel. Special thanks to Simon Obermair for looking after our group. Great variety breakfast. You could not ask for more at a reasonable price.
