"My son and I stayed at Alpenresort Thanner on Sylvester, until 7th January 2024. We booked the GF studio and from the start up to the end it was just a pleasure to communicate with Peter, who alos gave us lots of tips about local places. The house is very warm and it has modern appliances. It is located just two min away from the Penken lift and shops and bars. We will be back!"

"Had a great stay at Der Siegler when skiiing. Transfer was early dropping us off. Helped us store our bags and asked us to come back at 2 or have a drink in the bar so the owner could check us in and say hi. Was back a bit early but checked in with no issue. The room was great. Modern, plenty of space and storage for ski gear. Big incredibly comfy bed and very quiet. Huge TV and sofa a bonus. Big balcony with view of the mountains Shower was lovely and hot. It's about a ten min walk to the Gondola with restaurants/pubs on the way and a shop a few mins and walk. Ski bus stops immediately outside and seemed to be every 5 mins when we were there. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice, nice and fresh, cooking the hot bits as people were there meant they were always hot. The bar was an added bonus. Nice and lively and showing any sport you can imagine. Pretty reasonable prices for a beer too. We couldn't hear it from our room but we were on top floor. Staff from start to finish it were friendly and helpful. As we were leaving very early we asked Mike what to do re. Checkout the following day. He offered a packed lunch to take with us, putting much more than expected in there which we was a lovely touch. Can't thank Mike and his team enough for a great stay. Mike seemed to be in hand from breakfast to the bar in the evening to make sure all goes running well. "

"The new building with the spa area is really beautiful... because it's very spacious, guests are spread out well, so it's pleasantly quiet everywhere... The food looks very good, but the taste is average. The service is really hit and miss. On the first day, a very friendly and attentive waitress, but on the second day, unfortunately, the complete opposite. The rooms are okay; the older part is quite dated, but clean."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Neue Post in Mayrhofen and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The hotel is perfectly located right in the center of the village, making it easy to access restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities. Our room was modern, newly renovated, and exceptionally clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet offered a fantastic selection with something for everyone, and the evening dinners were of a very high standard, with delicious and varied dishes every night. Another highlight was the beautiful rooftop pool and sun terrace. After long and active days of mountain biking and hiking in the mountains, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The comfortable sun loungers, the peaceful atmosphere, and the stunning views of the surrounding mountains made it our favorite spot for an afternoon break. What truly made our stay special was the incredible staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. No matter what we needed, they were always happy to help and made us feel valued as guests from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The service on our departure day was exceptional. We spent our last day mountain biking and hiking before an evening flight home. The hotel kindly allowed us to store our luggage in their baggage room during the day, and when we returned, we were able to use their fantastic spa and wellness area to shower and freshen up before heading to the airport. After a full day of outdoor activities, this was greatly appreciated and meant we could travel home feeling comfortable and refreshed instead of tired and sweaty. A big thank you to the entire team at Hotel Neue Post for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Mayrhofen."

"We would have had a better review of the hotel, ignored the warm, noisy room, and enjoyed the positives of the hotel except for the very unusual behaviour we received around paying our bill. The day before we checked out, we had a bill stuffed in our door, followed by 2 phone calls at 9.30 pm at night. The following morning on check out I raised this with whom I presume was the owner, I don’t think she got the message, this is unacceptable, change your payment terms or leave your customers to settle on departure. We won’t be back."

"My husband and I visited this hotel in 2018 when (as I recall) it was officially five-star. We left with mixed feelings, and he wasn’t keen to return. So I came alone this year, and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. My sense is that the hotel now knows exactly what it is and has relaxed into catering for its clientele. I come to Mayrhofen to hike all day every day, so the three most important qualities in a hotel are food, sleep quality and the general warmth of the staff. If there is a decent swimming pool - and there is here - so much the better. I remember the Elizabeth’s food being consistently superb in 2018, and this year it was even better (a new chef and supporting team, I was told). Every dinner menu was inventive, with beautifully presented dishes which tasted wonderful. Moreover the restaurant experience was much, much better. In 2018 we found the superintending waitress quite controlling (in particular, not willing to pour our wine as fast as we wanted to drink it!). This year, although individual wine bottles were still (irritatingly) held centrally rather than left at guest tables, the wine waiter was responsive to guest wishes. And the wine was excellent and sensibly priced. As to sleep, I was allocated a spacious room - it must have been double, rather than the single I was expecting - which could not have been more comfortable, well laid out or quiet. I slept extremely well. And finally the hotel staff were just lovely. I think there may have been more staff than in 2018, so everything felt more relaxed. The Reception team were particularly helpful when I realised that my digital public transport pass (paid for and downloaded in the U.K.) was actually not going to work reliably in the mountains. We managed to convert it into a paper pass which functioned just fine. As an aside, the Zillertal Activcards (covering local cable cars, buses and trains), which we have bought in every previous visit to Mayrhofen, are now eyewateringly expensive. I saved a lot of money by buying the weekly travel passes and then paying for individual cable car ascents. So overall, I found this a wonderful hotel, very welcoming to me as a solo traveller, and I have now booked again for summer 2026."
