If this was a 4-star hotel with prices aligned for a 4-star hotel, I would have given it a higher score. But for a 5-star hotel and at these prices, it has issues, and I am inclined to think that the 5-star accreditation is mostly due to the number and size of the pools. Issues: - Security (entry access to the hotel): believe it or not, anybody can enter this 5-star hotel by the front entrance without room-card scan, without any question asked. The hotel has a room-card scanning device only at the back entrance (from the sea-side), but anyone can enter by front entrance or by parking entrance by foot and roam freely across the hotel. Unbelievable. - This is a 5-star hotel without water fountains/dispensers to drink. While other hotels have cold and hot water machines on each floor, or offer 1-2 water bottles each day, here we felt like in a 2-star hotel where it is not even written if the tap-water in the bathroom is drinkable or not. - Again like in a 2-3 star hotel, in the room there's no tea/coffee machine or at least a small electric water boiler. Other hotels (even less than 5-star) not only have such an electrical appliance, but they also offer a selection of tea-bags/coffee pads/sugar etc. Unbelievable for a 5-star hotel. - You cannot have a hot tea during buffet-dinner, unless the waiters call their supervisors to go somewhere at the back to make the tea specially for you (and one time we were told directly that the hotel doesn't offer hot-tea for dinner). Quite embarrassing for a 5-star hotel. - The room walls do not seem to have any sound-insulation. We could hear people talking in other rooms, the lifts, people on the hallways etc. Walls sound insulation is something every hotel should have on the list already from design steps. At least, as long as the room-size allows it, there should be a second-door between the room entry-hall and the bedroom itself, it would help with the noises on the hallways. - The dining space (buffet restaurant) is quite poorly designed. Poor lighting in many parts of the restaurant. Only one entrance (which is also the exit), and tight spaces with pillars that force you squeeze beside food counters. - The food in the dining space (buffet restaurant) is too many times missing labels, or has misplaced labels given the tight space on the food counters. A nigh**are for vegetarians or people with allergies. - The food in the dining space (buffet restaurant) is quite repetitive and feels like 3-4 star hotels. I think due to the limited space in the buffet restaurant, the hotel doesn't even offer a bar with pasta choices and sauce choices to prepare on the spot. - If you want to take food to your room, due to whatever issues you or a member of your family may have and cannot attend a meal, you may hit difficulties at the exit and need to offer extensive explanations. Unpleasant. 5-stars hotels should always be gracious with their clients and by default accommodating such needs, not to mention that taking
