First i want to review on booking experience. I was so pissed off with Trip.com booking. I entered 3 adults upon search & result showed an option of 3 occupancy room with full-board package for 2 adult. There is option for full-board 3 adults however since the first option was cheaper i was thinking to arrange my own for the additional 1 adult boat transfer & not require the meal package. It was shocking that when i reached the check in office it is mandatory to pay for the 3rd adult boat n meal package to the resort. My question here WHY trip.com put the option for 2 adult knowing the resort does not allow the 3rd person to check in??? This is a scammm for me because i entered 3 adults requirement at the first place for the booking. Both resort & trip.com are not synchronise with the information. Now going to resort stay experience: The resort staff were all great & the service was also on point. However, the condition of the resort was so below my expectation. I paid RM 700+ per night & i don’t feel worth it. Everything was super outdated & worn off. Especially the bathroom. The floors were cracked open & was swarming with bugs & insects & some people might get allergic to them. The bedroom is self was okay & comfy. Also food-wise, they served a lot of seafood & didn’t ask if anyone was allergic or not which one of us is. For RM 700 per night i expected it is included some activities we could do at the resort however it was disappointing that everything was chargeable whereas they are non-motorised & doesn’t even use resource / maintenance such as kayak & snorkel gear. The only nice thing at the resort was staff friendliness & the food taste.

A relatively quiet resort town. The hotel helped us transport our luggage when we went to and from the island. There are activities such as cycling and climbing on the island. The meals are also very rich. There is a separate leisure area for watching the sunrise and sunset. The beach on Besa Island is very fine and has many corals. Children can enjoy it from morning to night...~

Pulau Besar is a very small island. Considering the limited vacation time, I finally chose this island after researching many Malaysian islands. We chose this place because it is quiet. It takes about 2 and a half hours from where we live to Mersing, so it is not a long journey. Aseania Resort Pulau Besar has a check-in reception office in Mersing. After confirmation, they will give you a confirmation slip with the room number on it. It takes about 30 minutes to take a speedboat to Fengsheng Port to get to the island. From the pier when we landed, we could see the beach and the sparkling water. Even the camera could not capture the beautiful scenery. I got the key and checked into the room very smoothly. I had read some reviews on the website before. When I saw it officially, it was much better than I expected. The room was very clean and had some sweet scenes. Occasionally there were ants coming in and out of the bathroom sink. , except that the facilities are slightly old, it does not affect the functionality. There is a water heater installed in the bathroom, but it seems that it cannot be used. Fortunately, the weather is relatively hot, so it is acceptable to take a bath with cold water. The hotel has an all-inclusive meal service, but because we were afraid that the food would not suit our appetites and we had small appetites, we only chose to bring breakfast. The other two meals were a la carte. However, after observing the meals of other tourists, compared to ours Generally speaking, it is quite rich and has many varieties. You must go snorkeling when you come to the beach. It costs RM100/person and you can play for 3 hours, but the premise is that there are at least 6 people. For a quiet island by the sea, a 3-day and 2-night trip is enough. There is not much commercial atmosphere here, so if you want to see the sea and find a quiet environment, then this place is very suitable for you.

I was quite worried after reading the reviews. The facilities are indeed simple, but it doesn't matter. The staff on the island are very enthusiastic. The scenery on the island is really beautiful. It's so comfortable to relax for two days, and you can even watch the stars at night!

It only takes about 20 minutes to arrive by speedboat from the pier to Pulau Besar. . And we choose @Aseania Resort Pulau Besar, a resort hotel that I personally think can be recommended The hotel is located next to the pier in Pulau Besar, so it is very convenient to walk in about 5 minutes. . 1) We took a 4-day and 3-night package, including accommodation, three meals and a round-trip speedboat. The price is slightly higher than what we saw on the Internet before, and the price may be slightly higher due to the epidemic. . 2) I personally think the three meals a day are pretty good and delicious, and there are different dishes every day, so it will not make people tired. Compared with the food in Redang Island before, it is much more delicious. 3) The room layout is good, there is a large terrace, but there is no fan, so it is hot in the afternoon, and there are more mosquitoes at night. Our room has a queen size and a single bed, mini refrigerator, hair dryer , TV, kettle, etc. and also a safe. . Only the bathroom is narrow, but it is acceptable. . The room was clean and the bed was hard, but comfortable. . 4) All the staff of the hotel are polite, and the hotel's SOP is also worthy of publicity. . When arriving at the mersing terminal, the guests need to submit their 24-hour self-test new coronavirus test to the terminal customer service. If they confirm that it is negative, they can register for the speedboat. When they arrive at the hotel check-in, there are regulations for social isolation, so only 2-3 Individual line up. . During the meal, the hotel also arranged for each guest to have their own seat, and when taking food, it is also stipulated that masks and gloves 6) In fact, pulau besar is not big. We choose to ride a bicycle. . . And the bike can also carry children. 7) The hotel also has a swimming pool, but it may be a little lack of maintenance due to the epidemic, so we did not use it 😎 Although our vacation is at the end of October, the weather is no longer the same rainy season as before, but it is super sunny, so you can take great photos at any time. We also shot some wedding albums by ourselves, so satisfied 😎 9) The sunset view here is also amazing! So comfortable, I love it! Although it was only 4 days and 3 nights, it definitely gave us a very good anniversary celebration, and we will definitely go back again if we have the chance. Warm reminder, this place is actually more suitable for people who want to have a good rest and leisure. It is suitable for couples who want to have a quiet vacation, and it is also suitable for families who want to get together to chat and enjoy. If they want to be more lively, this place is not very suitable! If you are interested, you can contact the hotel yourself! I heard that they are open until the end of November. .

We stayed in this hotel in July 2022 for about 10 days. Pulau Babi Besar is less crowded and doesn't attract many Non-Malaysian tourists. The typical guests are people from Kuala Lumpur, which buy the 3 days - 2 nights package. First of all the good things. The management and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They do the best to provide you a pleasant stay at the hotel. The food was very tasty with a good variety. The beds in our hut were comfortable and clean. And if you walk about 500m to Bayu Lestari Hotel you'll find a stunning palmy beach, which is almost empty (3 days/2 nights package). Along the way you can find bats, monkeys and other animals. The not so good things: The entire hotel complex is run down. The huts and the pool area should have been renovated already 10-15 years ago. The bathroom in our hut was old and grimy. Be aware of cockroaches. You will get visited by them in several nights. The air condition was too noisy for me. There's no wifi at the hotel area. If you need an internet connection, buy a sim card at Mersing. Some facts about the island: The island has a really beautiful landscape with a mostly untouched nature. But most of the tourists don't care about the environment. So you'll find a lot of trash (plastic bottles, shoes, chips bags) in any place at the beach area. Especially the destination point of the jungle tour (you can do it easily on your own, no need for a guide) is a garbage dump. Near the hotel the government wanted to build a big shopping and restaurant complex, which is now an abandoned ruin. The dive center was closed at our stay. They provide a nice snorkel tour, but island hopping isn't possible. Snorkeling from the beach is not worth it. There's not much to see. And of course as other people already mentioned, you'll suffer a lot sand flies. In the hotel shop the sell an ointment to to suppress the itching. Overall without diving, internet and any other activities this island is a good place to stay all the day in a hammock on the beautiful beach and disconnect from modern busy life.

This is my 2nd time stay in this resort as i was really enjoy my 1st visit. I can understand after 2 years of on and off lock down, it was tough for all the resorts, but this island and resort is full of potential, room is dated and seriously need to upgrade and better maintenance, they are still serving nice food although less variety, staffs are still friendly and attentive, clear and empty beach is just a perfect holiday for us.
