As the name implies, it is a hostel. No lifts within the building. Room was very basic and only had one hanger for clothes. Prices were steep due to competing conventions. At least A&O is a major chain and the staff were pleasant. Otherwise it’s very no frills so at a cheap price, it’s worth a stay. Will return if there are no other options.

Location of hotel is quite near to Cologne Central Station. The hotel is abit old and there is no elevator available. We had to struggle to carry our heavy luggage all the way to 3rd level which is very tough. Room is big but no air con.

A great accommodation to stay and appreciated by all members of our group partners, friendly for guests, satisfaction also a place should be highly recommended. The receptionnists were very helpful. Hotel established in a quiet area where easy to reach Cologne Grand Cathedrale within 10 minutes on foot, specified comfortable where let us passed an inforgetable and wonderful vacation. Kindly and reliable as always. happy to be here again in near future.

The room was incredibly spacious; I was truly amazed. This is rare in European hotels. I wanted to just lie on the floor and roll around! It's close to attractions, within walking distance of the cathedral, art museum, and Hohenzollern Bridge. Reviews mentioned noise from passing trains at night, but I didn't hear any. I did hear the sound of suitcases being dragged around in the early morning, probably because it's near the road. The front desk offers hot water, juice, and coffee, and the German pork knuckle restaurant recommended by the staff was super nice.

Since it's the oldest a&o in Cologne, the furnishings are a bit dated, and there's no elevator, making it difficult to transport large suitcases to the upper floors. However, there's a locked luggage room on the ground floor, which is extremely convenient. Drinks are available around the clock, and the pancake machine at the breakfast buffet is great.
