Fantastic hotel in downtown Mexico in an historical building; amazing room, bed & pillow so comfortable, great rooftop with pool and jacuzzi If you are looking for a unique experience in the old part of Mexico you must go!! Be aware that if you want to visit other areas of the city you will have to take a cab, so you can stay there for 1 or 2 nights

What a gem of a hotel. It really did take me by surprise. Extremely characterful, classy and stylish. Honestly such a lovely boutique hotel - and so affordable for what you get. Breakfast of a morning was really impressive and well worth it (don't just expect the standard buffet style - you get devilled eggs, local pastires, fresh fruit etc). Check-in was enjoyable and I was able to get my VIP room upgrade. The pool area on the rooftop was excellent. Only slight downside is the area felt a bit crazy (compared to some other neighbourhoods) but I guess that's Mexico City for you. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Good location in Centro, with lots of must-visit sites and museums, as well as interesting restaurants and bars ranging from classic and fancy to low key and gritty. The heritage building itself is beautiful, the design touches are thoughtful, and the quiet rooftop pool feels very special, particularly for the area. Staff were friendly and helpful (especially Paula)—helping to make calls and reservations for us, which was really appreciated. The included breakfast was delicious and fresh, and it was great that it was available until late in the morning. (We planned to go out to eat for our breakfasts, but found ourselves really enjoying the high quality and consistency of the breakfast at the hotel, as well as the ambiance). I wouldn't likely return to this hotel, though, because the rooms were incredibly dark. The only "windows" in the room were from the front door, but there were no curtains, only blackout shades that could only be either fully open or closed. When open, the windows faced a walkway, and didn't give any privacy. The ceilings of our queen bed room were very high, but with no real windows, it felt a bit like being in a concrete silo with little air circulation. The lighting options were also very limited. Although everything was tastefully decorated, there simply wasn't enough natural or artificial light—not enough to put on makeup in the bathroom or even pack our bags without opening the window/door. (We asked for extra lighting a few times, and eventually were given a construction work light). The stairways and elevators were also extremely dark—it took careful effort not to fall down the stairs. Overall we did really enjoy our stay, the service and the pool, but the almost comical lack of lighting would discourage us from booking again.

The initial impression is of hip happening place. Although the rooms and the building is beautiful the only option for fresh air to cool down the rooms on a hot Mexican night is to leave the shutter window on the door open ? This leaves guests exposed with no privacy or security as people walking past can see in. The air conditioning in our room did not work and we were told it only circulates outside air inside! - could not notice any difference when turned on. Very dark interior with low mood lightening a little over done. The breakfast included very average with staff seeming a little indifferent and customer service a bit hit and mix. We tried both the restaurants within the Hotel complex and would not recommend either even though they look chic and inviting. Worst paella ever. Advise guests to eat out.

I felt the per night charge was reasonable for being in historic city zone. Appreciated the historic background of the facility. Convenience to historic zone was primary. Minimalist furnishings, but sufficient. staff friendly, helpful… but PAULA at lobby desk was the best, partly i think bec she is fluent in English … I think a little miscommunication with her colleagues not as proficient in English. Restaurant azul is fabulous. The tabernera can make it a little noisy on nights w company parties tho. Would book this property again in CDMX.

I would strongly recommend against this hotel. Aside from a loud, until 1 a.m. pool party that we heard in our rooms all night (and eliminated the pool as an option), the hotel lacked many amenities: barely a front desk; underwhelming breakfast (with terrible coffee); really dark rooms (including some with no windows); inattentiveness to concerns. There are so many better Mexico City hotels for this money; stay away from this one.

Good location, good service, clean rooms. I didn't eat at the restaurant on the first floor this time, but it looked stylish and the food was delicious. The only disappoin**ent was that the air conditioner in the room didn't have a heating mode. I was surprised because it gets pretty cold at night in Mexico City.
