Loved our trip to Miami and the McAlpine. My husband and I had the best time! The staff is super friendly and very helpful from the front desk to the housekeeping staff!! The one bedroom was perfect for us and the rooms are updated!! We were on the fourth floor feet away from the rooftop area along with the hot tub . Used the outdoor hot tub quite often. Definitely instacart food as Miami can be really expensive. But the front desk sells beer for way cheaper than a restaurant. There is washer and dryers in every building but we didn’t need to use it. Highly recommend this place for a super chill vacation!! You check in at Ocean Plaza for your key so you can sit outside on the porch area of both buildings. We will be back!!

We are HGVC owners and really enjoyed our first stay at this property. The best part is the location—just across the street from a park and the beach. We loved that this section of Ocean Drive is closed to vehicular traffic. It made the outdoor seating at the nearby restaurants so much nicer. The room was great. We had a one bedroom with a nice sized kitchen. I’d definitely recommend renting a car and checking out Biscayne and Everglades National Parks. They are just over an hour away. Also the hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but the city lot at 1301 Collins Ave is just a couple of blocks away and only $20 per night. We were able to manage our luggage on our own, but the hotel can help you with a nearby drop if you need it. The only thing I wish the hotel had was a pool on the roof instead of a tiny hot tub.

What a fabulous vacation spot. Can’t wait to go back. The hotel was perfect, the restaurants and staff along the beach were so friendly and welcoming and the views were spectacular. We can’t wait to return. A quick trip to the Miami boat rides were an added bonus that you shouldn’t miss…especially the night time one.

The gym had hardly had any equipment, the weight hurt my hands it was so cold and we could not change the temperature. The hot tub was not working and it was very difficult to get the luggage in to the hotel and out.

I liked Miami. It can be a bit pricey. In terms of the property, on the down side I didn’t find hotel staff super helpful. For example Prior to arrival I called front desk to ask if they could advise which taxi service to use to come in from the airport. They told me they were all the same. When guys offered me a ride I hopped in and got charged $100 plus dollars for what should have been $50 ride. Sure it’s ultimately my fault, but I called for a taxi service recommendation. Maybe if they said to watch out for this or that I would have been more careful. also we called for a room cleaning several times and never got one. We were there 6 days. Hotel staff did book our cab which showed up, but I was expecting it not to. Cabby with prestige charged us 60$. I was told it would be 40-50$. In terms of property we stayed in one bedroom unit. the rooms are not large nor is there an onsite pool, the rooms don’t have balconies or views. It’s otherwise good location. Close to beach and restaurants. Room was clean and well stocked. Coffee machine worked good. We brought our own coffee. Lobby coffee is not very good. Bed and pillows were comfortable as was the furniture. The main drawback for the location was that There were not many nearby stores for groceries and we had to buy our milk and cereal bananas from Walgreens. Not best selection or price but better than every meal at restaurant. Le sandwicherie was a block and a half away it was cheap and good for sandwiches and salads. We ate at the oh Mexico right near the hotel. I found it pricey. It was half decent though small servings. My wife had shrimp tacos they were good. I had fish tacos they were not that good. We ate a meal or two at Cheesecake Factory happy hour in Lincoln mall area to save some cash, It was decent. We don’t have one near us so we enjoyed it. That said there’s lots of good restaurants depending on your budget. We tried pizza at craft on espanola way it was pretty decent and cheap. Also the road in front of the hotel is closed which makes drop off and pick up and or parking complicated. This is not an issue if the weather is good. Not so good if heavy rain.

I am a Hilton Grand Vacation owner and I am disappointed in this property. Outside of the location there is nothing special about it. The room is ok but lots of issues with their standard of service. The bathroom floor is moldy and black between the tiles. The body wash and body lotion bottles are all empty. The beach towels and like rags. They are paper thin and small. When you ask for something they are supposed to have they say they don’t have it. For a Hilton it’s not living up to its reputation and I am very disappointed. The tile floor in the kitchen and bath are probably 20-30 years old and grungy. The elevator is dirty. The area is fun but they don’t even provide beach chairs or umbrella without paying for it. Not impressed at all. Actually disappointed to spend so much to be a Grand vacation member to be disappointed. Even the entrance has dead plants and is unwelcoming. Really pathetic for a Hilton property.

First time in a 2 bedroom and it’s now going to be hard to go back to a 1 bedroom suite! Spacious, clean, and friendly staff. Arrived early and was able to check in at 2pm. We stayed in the 2nd building without the gym. But it does have a laundry room and is secured by keycard only access 24/7. One king sized bed and another queen sized bed. The main living area is bigger than the bedroom in the 1BR. Since we will be working from here for the week, it’s nice to have separate areas to take calls.

The hotel obviously not a resort as indicated in HGV site is so not up to Hilton standard. I checked in in an evening and barely managed through the night. Had to check out the next morning and moved in to a Marriot hotel close by. Did not even complain to anyone as I was speechless, had to sacrifice all the points and didn't even care. Reason being that I was surprised that the hotel could be in a Hilton brand. The hotel is very old and precisely my room was neat as that was not the issue. However, there was this smell that I couldn't explain and would not go away despite spraying air freshener and even my perfume to see if I could relax. To crown it all, the room assigned to me was in a kind of backyard and being claustrophobic, I could not relax. Lastly, the water coming out of the tap felt weird on my skin, it was as if it was drawing and wouldn't wash off the soap on your hand or skin. The room was also very small in general as I booked for a 1 bedroom suite and both the room and sitting room area could barely make a decent sized room for a Hilton's standard hotel suite. Being a Gold member, I think I have stayed in enough Hilton hotels all over the world to be able to trust anyone I book anywhere irrespective of what the rating says. I mentioned rating because, the hotel was rated very high, a 4.5 which is quite high. I had to read through over the night to notice that the hotel management wrote a kind if disclaimer and put a lot of responsibility on external sources like 'TripAdvisor'. The rating was not only high but was said to have a beach when it didn't even have a swimming pool. Hilton can do better than this if they have to retain the trust of her customers. Not fair that you go in and book the highest rated resort in a place like Miami beach through the HGV site itself and not even exchange, then you get a hotel like that, that's not even up to 1 star simply because the deal is kind of irrevocable. It was a very bad experience and I was really disappointed at the Hilton brand. Yes, I stayed a few more days in the Marriot hotel but I already lost my Mojo for the vacation. A big brand like Hilton should be able to scrutinize every property in their franchise and upgrade to standard if need be, else, doubts will start creeping in. In Miami beach pf all places...common....too poor. Also, ensure the brands are marketed fairly and not overblown with fake pictures and inaccurate information. So, not a very pleasant experience from a brand I love so much!!!! Hope the management takes this serious! Hope this helps! Ebele

Great location (no traffic at Ocean Drive which makes it unique), the 2 bedroom has good appliances, but it is too noisy if you stays ocean front, as it is below the gym. It took some time for them to change the room. First, was offered a 1 bedroom, and so much more time to replace to a 2 bedroom.
