We recently stayed in this hotel. This was a combined business and family trip, so the choice of hotel was from the host. As I was traveling with family, I booked an extra night in their most expensive room on offer, a King room with a whirlpool tub. The location was good, and check-in was straightforward. The hotel, in fact, is a converted apartment on the 3rd floor. Lift is old-fashioned and terrible. I informed them in advance that I was coming with my family and would be paying extra, but I was surprised they also charged for my son (40EUROS per person per day), even though we had to accommodate in the same bed, and no extra bedding was provided, neither there is any breakfast provision in this hotel, so this was surprising. Anyways, when we moved to the king’s room the next day in the evening, we observed some foul smell coming from the bathroom. We reported to reception and were given a room freshener to deal with this issue, citing that no one could help, but it didn’t help. It was disappointing as we paid a premium price for the room but received very poor service. We had to sleep the whole night with an open window as the sewage smell was unbearable. The next morning, we reported to the person in reception again, and no apology was offered. We were asked to email if we had any complaints. I emailed 2-3 times after returning but got no response or even an apology email. I have traveled a lot and have been to many countries, and if I had ever faced a similar experience, a truly luxurious hotel would have refunded the money or at least offered an apology. I am not sure why the hotel is called luxury, as, apart from the room size, the service and attitude were awful. I will suggest being careful and not going by their claims of being luxury (this is, in fact, deceiving). Certainly, if you are traveling with kids, I suggest avoiding this hotel. I have given 1*, and if the system would have allowed, I would have given a negative rating.
