Nangoku Hotel

The building is by no means new, but it offers free bicycles, table tennis, karaoke, a pool and is the best hotel for enjoying entertainment. The room rate was not too high and both breakfast and dinner were all-you-can-eat delicious food, so I was very satisfied. There is a shuttle bus from JR Tateyama Station, so transportation is convenient, and it was a particularly great weekend in spring, when you could see the beautiful flowers. If you go by car, there is a large parking lot so you don't have to worry. I recommend the Western-style rooms as they are larger than the Japanese-style rooms.

There are ample parking spaces in front of the hotel, beside it, and behind it. The front desk is efficient. The rooms are old, but spacious and clean. The balcony is old, so it's better not to go outside. The indoor bath is old, but the open-air bath that continues from the indoor bath is relatively new, clean, and spacious. There are various buffets, but I wish they would reduce the number and upgrade it. Sashimi and sushi tend to run out easily, but the staff will replenish them. As it is a buffet, Chinese and Italian dishes are mixed, so it's best to organize in your head what you want to eat early. I decided to eat sashimi, sushi, boiled vegetables, and stewed offal, and Japanese food. I'm happy with the all-you-can-drink alcohol. There is one type of beer, sake, and shochu, and several types of sours. It's self-service, so you can pour without worrying! However, dinner is 70 minutes and breakfast is 60 minutes. I would like to have 90 minutes for dinner. It's a tough resort stay, so it's better to use it as a pre-fishing night or as a drinking party with accommodation.

This is a very classical hotel at the southernmost tip of Minamiboso. This is my second time using this hotel. I knew that there was a parking lot in front of the hotel and a second parking lot, so I went to the second parking lot before being told that the one in front of the hotel was crowded. I headed to the hotel with a relaxed look on my face, saying, "I know," and found that a third parking lot had been newly built in front of the hotel...? As expected of Itoen Hotel, the number of customers has increased. It was the time when the travel discount started, so there were many families checking in. From the lobby, you can see the majestic Pacific Ocean, and the sunset was beautiful. This time, I was able to get through to a large room, which was helpful, but the smell of cigarettes had permeated the room, which may have been a smoking room in the past. This was a shame. It was divided into two rooms, and the air conditioner was properly new and the room temperature could be adjusted. Dinner. I have decided to enjoy the poor access to the buffet venue, which is common in Itoen Hotel chains, as a part of the atmosphere. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the venue was packed and the menu was a bit lonely, and especially for young children, they only ate edamame, ramen, and rice. They were doing a beef & pork fair, but they couldn't keep up with refills, so I went to check it out several times and it was empty, so I gave up. I thoroughly enjoyed the beer with the stable all-you-can-drink. The bath has a spacious indoor bath, a sufficient washing area, and an open-air bath that you can't access unless you enter the indoor bath once. The temperature of the indoor bath felt hot to me, so I relaxed in the open-air bath while enjoying the night breeze. However, as other people have said in their reviews, there are a lot of mosquitoes, so you need to be careful not to get bitten while bathing. The room was only minimally cleaned, and the old facilities and poor fittings were noticeable. I've written a lot, but in the end, the staff are kind, my husband likes this hotel, and it's in a place with good access to tourist spots, so I'd like to use it again.

I went there because I wanted to stay there after seeing the retro exterior photos. So I expected that the facilities and other things would be old. If the inside was the latest facilities, I would have been disappointed. The food was buffet style, and when I went there they were having a bonito fair. I enjoyed a variety of bonito, including sashimi, carpaccio, fried, and nanbanzuke. It's not just here, but it's a shame that the buffet time is short, 70 minutes in the evening and 60 minutes in the morning. I would be happy if it was at least 90 minutes. The bath was also spacious, and when I went late at night there was no one there, so I was able to relax. The karaoke hall was canceled due to COVID-19, but I'm looking forward to seeing it someday.

I was unable to find another place to stay, and it was very cheap, so I was prepared for it, but there were more than seven mosquitoes in April, which was the worst. The outdoor pool was always full. I wonder if there were a lot of mosquito larvae there? Since it was cheap, I was prepared for it to be dirty, tasteless, and have no service, but the itching was unacceptable. They were buzzing around from the time I arrived, and I got rid of five of them by morning. They were buzzing around my ears all night, and I woke up several times during the night. It's early in the morning now, and I've been bitten four times so far. It's this time of year, so I don't have any medicine for insect bites, and it's very itchy and uncomfortable. Please take measures such as putting insect repellent in the room. If there are so many of them, surely there should have been reports of them before? This is the first time I've ever been to a hotel that was so unpleasant. I will never stay at a tropical hotel again.
