It was used during the 2022 Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. The main building, where the lobby is located, is an old private house built in the Meiji period and has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property. This modern Japanese-style hotel has been recognized as a three-star hotel in the Michelin Guide Niigata 2020. The calculated space design has a sense of overkill, but it is calming. I stayed in Classic C-type Room 305 (Komatsu), a twin bed placed on a 10 tatami mat, a space next to 4.5 tatami mats and 3 tatami mats, and a reading space facing the front. It was a bit too large for a couple, but the 3 tatami mats were occupied by chairs and were a little inconvenient. Dinner is a full-course meal called ”Snow Country Gastronomy” based on ingredients and traditional dishes that have been eaten in the snow country for generations. Although the taste was above the level, there was no dish that left an impression with the orthodox menu structure. Although it is a different world once you pass through the gate, it is close to the city area and is along National Route 291, which runs parallel to the Uonuma River, so the location is not very environmentally friendly. It's not bad if you decide to stay home.

It was a very satisfying stay with a feeling of cleanliness and neat cleaning. Breakfast was included in the accommodation and dinner was taken at the restaurant in the building. Both were delicious. The two large communal baths were beautiful and the view was good. There was an open-air bath surrounded by snow and an open-air bath with a large mountain in front of me, so it was beautiful and relaxing. There were many small children staying, so I was full of energetic energy. On the other hand, I saw quite a few people staying in three generations of family. Overall, I think it was an environment where everyone seemed to enjoy and felt happy. I used it for skiing this time, but it was a hotel that I would like to stay even if I didn't ski.

Kappo Ryokan Irohatei is located in Minamiuonuma and about 5-minutes walk from ItsukamachiStation, near Hakkaisan Ropeway and Agricoa Echigo Winery. Free WiFi is available in the lobby. Breakfast was quite good for this price, and the Uonuma Koshihikori rice was delicious. 3. Enter the entrance and turn left and reach the front desk. It feels like a business hotel rather than an inn. Because of the corona countermeasure, the counter at the front desk does not carry out any procedure, and it is done on the sofa. You can pass the pen and describe the inn book, but the pen is not used. There is also a lounge, but it was not open. It was a room Japanese room 10 tatami mats, but there were also 6 tatami mats like the next room, and I felt wide. The bath is on the opposite side of the front desk on the first floor. There is a slightly wet inner bath 1 and a hot open-air bath, and the Joetsu Shinkansen downhill can be seen 々. The towel is very thick, and it is not possible to use it as a hand towel, and I think it is better to bring a body towel in the room. The meal is a dining room on the second floor. It was designated as 19:30. There are waiters and waitresses, but most of them seem to be in training, and the timing of bringing food is slow, and if you don't urge again, you won't fire a pot or a pot. There was no Nakai in wafuku, and it was like a business hotel with Japanese rooms and hot springs. There were few rooms, and the bath was not crowded, and I was able to relax without worrying.

The scenery I was expecting to see in the photo was disappointing because the glass was cloudy inside and I couldn't see it while soaking outside. The bath with color 々 is also disappointing. Meals are normal. The soup powder that only women specially served was very delicious and I was happy. While I think young people and foreigners are working hard, I can't hear the basic words in the basics of the hospitality business from the mouth of the veteran man at the store and the front desk, ”thank you” It was uncomfortable.
