W Minneapolis - the Foshay

Great stay. Room was very nicely decorated, clean and the beds super comfortable. I stayed here on a third party, lowest rate booking. Thus, I got a not so great view, but totally fine with it because of the rate type. The hotel is located in downtown, very convenient to many places. The little viewing space at the top of the building is great. The atmosphere of the property is great. The staff were okay. Interesting, in this case the staff were really not engaged and definitely didn't seem to be at work (I mean, I guess who does want to be at work). I mean, they were totally pleasant, just seemed to be limited on the customer interaction scale.

The toilet ran all night. The room was unkempt, dirty, lack of towels and horrible view from room.

No one was available to help with the luggage when we arrived. Ended up unloading our car ourselves. Went to check in and back to the car still no one was available to assist. About 30 minutes later someone did show up & he was very helpful. Light on the left side of Thebes does not work. To last to address that situation tonight. Overall a nice place.

My shower had clumps of hair on the floor from the previous guest, the shampoo, Conditioner and shower gel pump bottles were all slippery, and alas, I had not noticed until I was already well into the routine. I cannot begin to describe how disgusted I was, and promptly washed my feet in the sink. Requested a room move, but nothing was clean. Asked for them to please deep clean my room as I had no confidence that it was clean properly altogether. When I returned from my appointments the room was clean the shower as well but no note or message or anything from anyone. I wrote an email to the general manager and attached a video, not long after the director of style (housekeeping Director) with his forehead full of sweat was at my door asking me if my shower was clean, apologized and asked if he can get anything. What seems very evident is that this hotel is severely understaffed. The GM eventually responded to my email and apologized, but no restitution of any kind was offered, perhaps because of too many incidents. Upon checking out at 5:30am the next day, there was no one at the front desk, I called out “hello”, no reply. I had to go behind it and knock out a side door and a man came out, but he did not seem very familiar with the front desk. He took my keys and said he would email me my folio, to which I replied that I needed my folio now. He returned to the back office and emerged with another person who clearly seemed that she had been asleep. The folio was produced and never asked how my stay was, nor were there any extra Bonboy points awarded for the shortcomings I experienced. Needless to say, I will not be returning on my next trip to this hotel.
