OK. Let's get straight to the point. The cool living section is very good, however it seems if you do not pay the extra you can still use the facilties. You don't book a Travel Lodge and then turn up at The Ritz and say you didn't like the Travel Lodge so I'm using your hotel instead. Just incredibly disappointing.

Amazing stay and an amazing hotel. The staff was very friendly and the food was tasty. Something for everyone. A special thanks to the staff at the island and the staff at the bar at the beach.I recommend trying out the sauna and booking a massage. Be prepared for the hills, but the hotel can drive you up and down in small cars. I would also recommend trying morning yoga at the beach- this also gives you a great opportunity to get hold on the best sunbes which is at the pier.

I am here at the moment. I am not happy. Arrived on Tuesday 2pm. , room not serviced on Wednesday as they arrived when we were both having showers at 6.30pm. They then arrive at 20.50pm.on Thursday evening just as we arrived back from dinner. Did ask for decaf coffee for the room on checking in. Despite numerous requests Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning and assurances we would get it NO decaf has yet been provided. This is not the service I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel does have some good points but it's shortcomings are letting it down. Great view though from room 504.

Hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the sea, beautiful views, clean and nice rooms. The staff are fantastic, they really look after you and are always smiling which makes for a great experience. Food in the a’la carte restaurants is very good, buffet varies but still decent. Bars have good drinks and beach whilst pebbles is a nice place to be with comfy chairs. Go for a visit to Plaka which is a few minutes away and beautiful. Throughly enjoyed our time here.

We are booking again for next year A WONDERFUL holiday – we are back home feeling so relaxed thanks to the wonderful staff at this hotel. I should start by saying that my wife and I are both in our mid 70’s so we don’t want a real activity or disco holiday. Incredible value for money and you do have to consider that this was literally one THIRD of the price that we paid for the last 2 years at another hotel. We had the best room in the hotel – 202 although 201 is almost as good. Private pool, huge bed which was really comfortable, shower with the best water pressure of any hotel I have ever stayed in in Greece. We had a couple of unavoidable minor problems during our stay (flat battery in the safe and a blown light bulb) which were attended to very promptly. In September our pool was warm enough to use by 10:00 but the sun went off of it by 3:00 pm. Early in the season it might be hard to get in the shade. This is an all-inclusive hotel – food drinks, everything. So to the food. A good choice of restaurants. We were very confused when we checked in because one restaurant is Asian in the evening but Greek at lunchtime. Another restaurant has a Peruvian/Japanese menu but on three nights it has different menus INSTEAD of the standard menu. We tried them all. Being really picky and the following points are really minor, we were disappointed in the Cretan evening. The music was rubbish – surely it should be Greek music? The roll served needed butter (or oil/vinegar) and there was an ice bucket by the side but our chilled wine was left on the table. If we didn’t enjoy any meal, we could still go to the buffet afterwards. The buffet is very good with lots of tasty foods. Four stands – cold, hot, fruit, desserts and plenty of fresh fruit as well. There is a Greek/Italian restaurant which is street food (Gyros or Pizza or Pasta) but we prefer fine dining. There is a great selection of local restaurants in Elounda (see separate revues for Vachus, Perigali, Kaarens and Nikos) or Plaka (see separate review for Giovanni) and a huge selection at nearby Agios Nikalaos (but we never managed to get there) There is a snack bar menu which we did not try. And the drinks.. Lots of them and very very good. Decent cocktail menu which we worked through several times all excellently made and served. The white and rose Monograph wines were excellent and the sparkling rose I had 2 glasses of most lunchtimes was wonderful And they are all included. Wonderful. A minor complaint is that some days we found the bar to be very hot. It does need better air conditioning. It has mixed seating including tables with chairs where we could sit and play cards after dinner with a few cocktails. Our biggest complaint was that on Monday and Friday there was ?Disco? music that was to our ears total rubbish and was so loud you couldn’t think. Several people complained and left the bar but it carried on. The saving grace is that they stop at 11. I am informed by the mana

This was our first time staying at Domes Aulus Elounda, but have been to Crete many times before. The whole experience since we arrived has been amazing. The hotel facilities, location, views and rooms are excellent. All the hotel staff, particularly Christina and the team in the main Island restaurant and Stavroula for restaurant reservations are first class and cannot do enough for you. They all made us feel so welcome. The feel of the resort is very relaxed and the quality of the food is excellent. This has been the best holiday!!

Fantastic overall stay at the hotel. The staff were fantastic. They could not have done enough for you, especially in the Island restaurant where they would go out of their way to cater to your every need. The hill to our room was the only real problematic issue however there was a buggy service to help those weary legs I would highly recommend!

I want to start by saying this was the best holiday of my life! I never normally leave trip advisor reviews but feel that I have to share how wonderful my experience was here. My partner and I came to Domes Aulus Elounda in August for a week (non cool living). At first, we were unsure whether we should have booked cool living but we definitely didn’t need to! We had the pleasure of being upgraded to a shared private swim up pool room which was fantastic. The hotel left us food, wine and a lovely message along with rose petals to congratulate us on our anniversary in the room. This was a strong start. The main pool was lovely and had plenty of sun beds. As did the beach. Both bars were good but you have to go up, they don’t serve you from your beds. Don’t expect plastic or glass cups, but this didn’t bother me. The wind off the sea was lovely and refreshing - sometimes a bit much but that’s Crete for you! The À la cart restaurants were lovely but we only managed to get booked into one as they were fully booked which was a shame. The all inclusive buffet restaurant was great and the servers were amazing! My glass was never empty. I am veggie and the options were limited but I always found something tasty to eat. Nice fresh salads and various hot foods. The amphitheatre bar was amazing in the evenings and the drinks were strong and delicious. All of the staff were so happy to help and even gave us extra drinks to take back to our room. Some evenings had music entertainment but some were quieter with gentle background music. The hotel vibe is quiet and chilled which was perfect for us. We made some good friends and had drinks in our private pool with them one night but received a noise complaint for music even though we weren’t playing any. The guests didn’t seem to stay up late or want anyone else to - but the staff were happy for us to continue drinking in the pool as long as we didn’t start playing music. Elounda is a 5 minute taxi ride and has nice bars and boat trips to Spinalonga. We also did a luxury yacht sunset cruise which was booked via the concierge - this was stunning. On the whole, we felt extremely relaxed, well looked after and full of beautiful Greek wine. We’d come back to this hotel tomorrow if we could and still wouldn’t bother with the cool living part. One couple we met said they were cool living and it didn’t feel any more exclusive or better than the standard hotel which we were in. They even spent most of their time in the non cool living areas. It’s right at the top of the hill so you wouldn’t even know it was there. The views from every part of the hotel were incredible and the hotel itself is beautifully decorated with high quality finishings. I would recommend this hotel to everyone - you will not be disappointed! Thank you so much for making our stay so amazing. Matt and Chris
