The view of the hotel is acceptable, but the service needs improvement in many aspects. The rental of the swimming pool needs to be rented separately, which is particularly inconvenient. It is not convenient to eat nearby. The hotel's own buffet has various requirements. Customers are given hand straps of different colors. The plastic buckles cannot be taken off. It is very inconvenient to wear them all the time. However, Only willing to provide it once is not humane enough. The hotel facilities are relatively old and the price/performance ratio is average

The rooms are really clean and tidy. This is my first solo holiday and have found it easy to get on with others there is a good selection of food . The entertainment crew are fantastic never stop always on the go . Bar staff and waiters always there to help of you need anything. The reception staff were helpful and told me about the hotel and local areas.

Hubby and I have just returned home from staying at the Royal Thalasso Monastir. The hotel is more a 3/3.5 star hotel definitely not 5 as advertised. The reception entrance, pool area and bar at reception are nice but the rest of the hotel is dated. The bar staff, waiters and animation staff are all very friendly and can’t do enough for you however we found the reception staff to be very dismissive. There appears to be lots of cleaning going on but nothing is really very clean. Our room was only swept on our last day and all that was really done was towels, toilet roll and water replenished and the beds made. I didn’t visit the spa once I was told that the robes and towels other guests received hadn’t been washed. However they did say the trea**ents they received were really good. Also if you want to use the gym there is a charge of 30 TD per person per day. Our patio doors didn’t lock so reported it at reception and they advised they would send someone to look at it (they never did) however on chatting to other guests they had the same problem so basically it seems things don’t get fixed when broken. It wasn’t a major issue for us as we were on the 4th floor. The food was absolutely fine. There was plenty of choice. There was usually a couple of fish dishes, two choices of meat generally always beef and a rotation of chicken or turkey, freshly made pizza and pasta and a couple of Tunisian dishes, lots of different salads and mini cakes (which were lovely). There is an a la carte restaurant you can book but it is very small and books up very quickly unfortunately we didn’t manage to get a reservation for it. The all inclusive drinks aren’t that great. However the bar just off reception has an extensive menu of cocktails and premium drinks that you can pay for. There is no rep at this hotel however you can book trips via reception or there is a rep from Tunisian Travel Services that visits the hotel between 9-11 who you can book trips through. We did the 2 day Sahara trip which was great. Two very long days but it was definitely worth it. The hotel doesn’t have a cash machine to withdraw money however it does exchange money at the reception. The hotel doesn’t have anything in the vicinity however there is a train station about a 10 mins walk away where you can get the train to either Sousse or Monastir and the cost of tickets is very cheap. We went to Monastir and it was only 0.55 TD per person each way. Monastir is such a beautiful town lots of things to see and we went to My Cocoon for lunch and the food was fabulous with really big portions and really cheap. The WiFi at the hotel is ok. In the rooms and reception it is fine but at the pool area the signal comes and goes. Whilst we have enjoyed our Tunisian adventure I wouldn’t come back to this hotel and would definitely do more research on the areas before booking up again.

Bon courage !

For what we paid the hotel was fine, but don't go with high expectations. I have stayed at much nicer hotels in Tunisia. Room was fine, we booked a double room and weren't too impressed that we ended up with 2 twin beds pushed together and not even attached, not quite what we had imagined. There is a plate of tea and coffee in the room, but this didn't get replenished, even though we asked the cleaners, reception staff and left notes for more coffee it never arrived. Cups in room were left dirty and not changed when room was cleaned. You have to pay a deposit for towels and safe, never had to do this before in other hotels. We paid this in Tunisian dinar which meant that we ended up with local currency that we didn't need back at the end of our stay. Also our safe wasn't even bolted down so you could actually just steal the whole thing if you wanted to! Oh and our balcony door didn't lock. Food was OK, not much choice and very repetitive. Also on busy nights it was manic in the restaurant and the waiting staff couldn't keep up with drink orders and clearing tables. Dirty plates and glasses were often piled up on tables for the whole evening at dinner as they just couldn't cope. Meaning that some nights it was a struggle to find a clean table to sit at. Quite often there seemed to be heated conversations/arguments between the restaurant staff and the managers in front of all the guests which made the a**osphere very awkward, one night a waiter was crying after being spoken to by a manager and it was such a horrible a**osphere in there that we cut our dinner short and left. The majority of staff work really hard, there's just not enough of them to cope. We tried the al a carte restaurant and the service was terrible so we left half way through the meal. Chicken was uncooked and drinks that we asked for never arrived. Reception staff were rude and unhelpful. The main bar inside the hotel in the evening is a joke, the staff just can't cope with demand and there was always a massive queue. You also didn't know what the drinks would taste like next, we drank gin and tonics and every time you got one it would taste different, never did get to the bottom as to why. We used the spa for one day and loved it, such a fab escape from the main hotel, great trea**ents and use of the pool and steam room, highly recommend. In conclusion we enjoyed our week for what it was and what we had paid. Pool was lovely and staff very friendly but I wouldn't go back to the hotel. The management seriously need to get things together and staff it properly.
