We enjoyed our 2 night in a room with a balcony. The room was small ( which was ok for us) had nice details to suit the old feeling. Shower was very small and water run all over but it had hot water. Easy check in. It is not far from the gate so very short walk with all our staff. Need better sign in English, we passed the place and had to come back. Over all nice and reusable priced. Next to all the restaurants in the town.

Περάσαμε τα Χριστούγεννα στον ξενώνα. Είναι πραγματικά ένα υπέροχο μέρος, πολύ ρομαντικό και όμορφο. Αισθάνεσαι ότι είσαι σε μια άλλη εποχή. Τα δωμάτια ήταν μεγάλα και καθαρά, γεμάτα πέτρα και ξύλο. Το μόνο πρόβλημα ήταν η έλλειψη wifi, αλλά και καλού σήματος των εταιριών τηλεφωνίας, κάτι όμως μάλλον αναμενόμενο με τόση πέτρα γύρω μας. Σε κάθε περίπτωση, το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα, αλλά όχι για.. κλειστοφοβικους!!

είμαστε μια 5μελη οικογένεια με παιδιά στο δημοτικό κλείσαμε δίπατο σπίτι με δυνατότητα να χωρίζονται μάλλον..πολύ όμορφο παραδοσιακό ωραία θέα με ένα μπαλκονακι όσο πρέπει ξύλο και πέτρα σε αρμονία με μια λογική τιμή για τα άτομα που ήμασταν και για την εποχή και με προσωπικό ευγενεστατο ...θα ξανά πήγε να σίγουρα

Very traditional style home - furnished period correct and refurbished with great details. Location is extremely convenient and my specific room had spectacular views. Great experience!

Abbiamo prenotato questa camera per un paio di giorni ad agosto, è pulita tuttavia le dimensioni sono piccole e il bagno era veramente angusto con il tetto basso. Inoltre non essendoci finestra si sentiva a volte un cattivo odore. In tutta la stanza c erano solo due piccole finestre. Sentivamo molti rumori dall appartamento sopra per via dei pavimenti vecchi che scricchiolavano. Per un soggiorno a Monemvasia si può trovare senz altro di meglio. Abbiamo dovuto fare la colazione fuori perché non c erano ne gli spazi ne le cose necessarie per farla in camera (tazze,cucchiai, etc) e abbiamo speso tanti soldi per la colazione al bar tanto valeva prendere un hotel con più servizi. La proprietaria non si è mai fatta vedere ha inviato un video per mostrarci dov era e abbiamo fatto fatica a trovarla perché bisogna fare tante scale in piccole viuzze, cosa molto scomoda quando hai valigie.

It may be less than 50m from the town gate, but enter the walled town of Monemvasia and you enter a medieval mystery tour of tangled alleyways, steep stairs and shadowy archways. Goulas’ sign on the street is in Greek - see photos if you’re limited to Roman script! Like everything else in the town Goulas guesthouse is old - in parts, very old - and seems to have grown organically over time. Our ‘room’ (effectively a junior suite with the feel of recent comprehensive renovation) had a sitting room, shower and bedroom, plus a huge private outdoor terrace overlooking the town roofscape, a public garden, the town walls and the sea. Excellently appointed, scrupulously clean and well equipped, modern wi-fi and aircon rubbed shoulders with bare stone windows and duck-or-grouse low doors. Presiding over it all was the excellent Dora. Having guided in her lost sheep on the phone, she was a fount of local knowledge and precisely the kind of landlady you’d hope to have in a guesthouse of quality. (Tip: plenty of places to eat nearby, but try Matoula for seafood dolmas and fried red mullet). Goulas Traditional Guesthouse may be hard to find, but it’s well worth the effort.
