"Fantastic value. We paid a few pounds more for a "superior" room and were given room 17. Two balconies, with wraparound views. Certainly not a £50 view!! Can't rate highly enough. Right on the causeway so very convenient. Spent a very happy afternoon just sat on the balcony taking in the view."

Kinsterna Hotel Hotels in Monemvasia

Kinsterna Hotel

"When a hotel is really great, I review it for myself. I love looking back at my reviews to remember my most wonderful travel experiences. This will be one of those reviews. We found the beautiful Kinsterna Hotel is a coffee table book called “Great Escapes Greece”. Obviously, we checked TripAdvisor before booking! Kinsterna exceeded my expectations in so many ways. - We arrived late after the restaurants were closed. The staff (who seem to care for the place like they own it) offered to have club sandwiches waiting in our room. - They grow and make SO MUCH on site. Olives, oranges, marmalade, wine grapes, so many vegetables, etc. What hotel does that! Try the local Kidonitsa wine. - If I’m not mistaken, the pool was fresh water from a well. No chlorine, no salt. - The building has more than just history. Take the tour to learn how they turned ruins into a magnificent complex. - Seriously amazing value - I just wish the flights to Greece weren’t so expensive. - We stayed in a villa, which was built 10-15 years ago. Amazing craftsmanship like you never see any more. I wouldn’t stay there for the spa. The people were nice, but there was room for improvement."

"Pros: Great pool, spacious modern rooms with several balconies, beautiful location. Cons: not cheap, a 5 minute drive to Monemvasia for dinner. The place was luxurious with not that many guests. We used it as a base to visit Monemvasia and Elafonisos. Fabulous seaside scenery."

Monemvasia Village (ex Topalti)

"We booked a room for three nights, with air conditioning clearly included among the advertised amenities. We checked in at 3:00 PM, left our luggage and went out for the day. When we returned to the room at around 2:00 AM, we discovered that both the air conditioning and the TV were not working. With temperatures of approximately 32–33°C inside the room, sleeping was practically impossible. The following morning, we immediately reported the problem. We were told that the previous guests had not mentioned any issue, but that the air-conditioning unit would be replaced. They even sent a technician, who confirmed that the unit was indeed faulty. And then what happened? Nothing. When we returned later that day, the air conditioner had not been repaired or replaced. Instead, they had left us a **fan**. A fan, in a room we had specifically paid for with air conditioning, during extremely hot summer weather. The air-conditioning unit was never replaced during our stay. What made the experience even worse was their attitude when we complained at check-out and pointed out the obvious: a room without functioning air conditioning should not be charged at the same price as a room offering air conditioning. Instead of apologising and taking responsibility, their response was astonishingly defensive and rude. We were told that **we should have reported it on the first day and that it was essentially our fault**. Apparently, according to them, guests are expected to inspect the room and verify that all advertised facilities are working, rather than the hotel checking the room after the previous guests leave. They repeatedly used the fact that they had “sent someone immediately” as if this solved the problem. Yes, they sent a technician — **who simply confirmed that the air conditioner was broken. He did not repair it.** Confirming a fault is not the same as fixing it. Eventually, they offered us €60 back — effectively valuing the lack of air conditioning at €20 per night. To make matters worse, we were also told that they “know our kind” and deal with customers like us every day. That comment says a great deal about their attitude towards guests who have the audacity to complain when they do not receive what they paid for. And if they genuinely believe that we went through all of this over €60, they completely missed the point. This was never about €60. It was about paying for a room with basic advertised amenities, spending our holiday nights unable to sleep because of the heat, being promised a replacement that never happened, and then being treated as if **we** were the problem for complaining. A technical problem can happen anywhere. What defines a business is how it handles it. In this case, the failure to fix the problem was disappointing. **The way we were treated afterwards was unacceptable.** Unfortunately, this experience seriously affected our holiday, and based on both the accommodation issue and the attitude we received, I cannot re"

Bastione Malvasia Hotel (ex New Malvasia) ★★★
"Hotel location and environment are excellent, the room is the castle, there is no cave and experience ~ The only thing to note is that there is a few hundred meters of stone road from the island entrance to the hotel. If you pull the box, it will be more painful. You can contact the hotel to help run the plum (paid service)"

"Welcome to a superb end of the world, isolated and yet... The room is very simple but with an extraordinary view of the sea and Monemvasia (10 min by car). The welcome... This young girl with her lively dynamism was radiant. She gives us valuable advice for places to visit, restaurants, schedules... Breakfast: copious! We choose the composition at will the day before. The pistachio and honey waffles were delicious. The people who prepared these dishes for us were very cheerful. The swimming pool: splash in the sea water. We regretted only spending two nights there! We come back with our eyes closed."

"Greek hospitality is legendary, but Quattro Suites has outdone itself! The property is beautiful, the pool is stunning, the breakfast is four-star, the rooms are very clean, and last but not least, the mattresses and pillows are incredibly comfortable. The location is also excellent for visiting Laconia. The staff made us feel pampered. I WILL MISS YOU 🌹"

"We had such a great time ! The welcoming and the professionalism of all the team was outstanding. The accomodation is incredible. The food at their restaurant is delicious, made with fresh local products. A special mention for the private cooking class that we took and for the olive oil tasting experience and explanation that was done with a lot of passion. We definetely recommend and we will surely be back. Amélie & Jason"

"This small hotel is conveniently located just a stone's throw from the Monemvasia peninsula. The rooms are admittedly a little outdated and could benefit from a refresh. However, we loved the peaceful surroundings and the small terrace where we enjoyed breakfast."

"We loved this beautiful hotel. We specifically requested a room with few stairs and a sea view, and we were given exactly that—an antique-filled Ottoman style room (A1) with a balcony overlooking the main square and the sea—perfect for us. We had been worried about having to park outside the town gate and drag our luggage through town, but the reception area is only a few meters inside the gate, and the hotel supplied an amazing porter to carry the baggage to our room. We especially appreciated the comfortable bed with good reading lights, and the drying rack on the balcony. Despite its central location, the room was surprisingly quiet at night, and we could not believe the zillions of stars above. The folks in reception were very helpful and gave us an excellent map and great advice. Breakfast was in a separate building and there was a huge variety of delicious items. Most of the town’s restaurants are only a few steps away from the rooms. We particularly liked Matoula for its great service and beautiful sea view and ate there several times. Galera Gelato was another favorite for their irresistible ice cream. The town is very small and walkable but is not easy for anyone with mobility challenges; the cobblestones and stairs require extra caution. It’s definitely worth a hike up the cliff to see the Upper Town, and outside the east wall to visit the lighthouse. This beautifully preserved town is absolutely magical, and the Byzantino Hotel is the perfect place to stay to soak up its historical atmosphere."
