Dylan greeted us with a big smile as we arrived. Complimentary hibiscus tea (iced) lifted our spirits after 36 hours of no sleep. Check-in was super easy, and we were escorted to our Sunset View King room - WOW! What a view! Dinner that evening at the Hotel restaurant "The Fig" (Ficus). Happy hour offered a great variety of Antojitos (snacks); we enjoyed Salmon carpacchio, beef carnitas, and a Costa Rican specialty "chifrillo". Locally produced craft beer complimented all that. There is a full bar, btw. Uphill walk to our room, then fell asleep with the sound of rainfall. Wonderful night sleep on a cloud-top mattress. Leaving the room in the morning, we were greeted by a large group of jaguarundis (relatives of coati-mundis) rummaging in the grass. And happy birdsong(s) accompanied us on our walk to breakfast. The Fig offers a lovely buffet of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, and hot items ( the fried plantains are DELICIOUS). Indoor and outdoor seating is available. This property is fantastic. The rooms are very spacious. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. They surprised my husband with a birthday cake made of towels and fresh flowers left in our room. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

The property is amazing and the staff even more so!! The grounds are immaculate and the view of the cloud forest breath taking. We woke up to a flat tire and Anna and Allison couldn’t have been more helpful in getting us to our morning excursion and on our way afterwards. Without their help we might still be there. Mucho gracias to both!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Ficus Monterverde. We loved the spacious clean rooms with beautiful views (we were on the 2nd floor of the building the most higher up the hill), beautiful grounds and gardens, welcoming and helpful reception staff (cool towels and welcoming juice - nice attention!). I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Monterverde.

The staff could not have been friendlier. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a great view. The breakfast buffet had many good choices and the food was very good. Very short walk to the center of town.

We loved this hotel. The staff is exceptional, the rooms are clean, the views are lovely, the paz drinks addictive. Really can’t say enough. Monteverde itself wasn’t our favorite in Costa Rica (the nearby San Luis we found much more interesting) but this hotel was definitely amazing!

Hotel staff were professional and friendly. We asked them for recommendations for things to do in Monteverde during our idle time, and they recommend us the "Nighttime Nature Walk". Tit was an amazing experience, as I would recommended it to anyone!
