Dylan greeted us with a big smile as we arrived. Complimentary hibiscus tea (iced) lifted our spirits after 36 hours of no sleep. Check-in was super easy, and we were escorted to our Sunset View King room - WOW! What a view! Dinner that evening at the Hotel restaurant "The Fig" (Ficus). Happy hour offered a great variety of Antojitos (snacks); we enjoyed Salmon carpacchio, beef carnitas, and a Costa Rican specialty "chifrillo". Locally produced craft beer complimented all that. There is a full bar, btw. Uphill walk to our room, then fell asleep with the sound of rainfall. Wonderful night sleep on a cloud-top mattress. Leaving the room in the morning, we were greeted by a large group of jaguarundis (relatives of coati-mundis) rummaging in the grass. And happy birdsong(s) accompanied us on our walk to breakfast. The Fig offers a lovely buffet of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, and hot items ( the fried plantains are DELICIOUS). Indoor and outdoor seating is available.
