The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and the staff at the service desk are excellent. My only complaints have to do with the amenities. It would have been nice to have a mini-fridge in the room, and we never found any ice bucket or ice machines.

The hotel has a lot to offer, from comfortable rooms with sizable patios/balconies to a large restaurant offering complimentary breakfast and a large dinner menu. The hotel is also in a convenient location for accessing various highlights around the Monteverde area, including hiking spots as well as stores and restaurants. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. From the front desk to the restaurant to all the staff that we interacted with, everyone was nice and wanted to enhance our experience. The hotel grounds were another highlight. If you stay here, definitely walk around their different trails. My wife and I saw two different types of toucans on different days, as well as other birds and wildlife while walking around the grounds.

The hotel is nice. We upgraded to a room with an actual balcony after discovering we did not have one. The hotel is clean and centrally located for easy access but the property feels remote and has lovely grounds. Our breakfast was included and was exceptional. Dinner prices were a bit steep. An in-room refrigerator would have been nice but the bar did provide ice. Staff were all friendly. It would have been a 5 star if not for the notes.

Costa Rica, Monteverde heaven! The hotel is beautiful and the staff are super nice and professional. We stayed in a Motmot suite with an amazing balcony and view of the forest. The food in the restaurant was delicious and presented like artwork. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. We would return and spend longer in a heartbeat. Be aware the part of the roads are uaed to get here can be pretty rough and hilly - hire the right kind of car.

This hotel looked really nice in the pictures but was not so spectacular in person. The rooms were smaller than expected and we were booked in the Marmot room. The view was obstructed by a tree which was a shame. We arrived at 12 noon as we were collected from our last stop early (which is very normal) and were told we couldn't go to our room until 2pm which meant we had to hang around. We did go for a walk around the grounds but they were not as extensive as we thought. We used the swimming pool and this was nice but quite small too. Monteverde itself is very pressurised and tiny so once you had walked down, did a walk around that was it. Additional tours from the hotel were quite expensive. We did a trip to the cloud forest which was interesting.

The welcome was wonderful.. We were here only 1 night but the room was very comfortable with a lovely balcony. Especially good was the food at the restaurant in the evening, and the made to order breakfast. It's about a 10- 15min walk to the centre where there are plenty of cafes/ shops
