This is a very nice hotel -- nice rooms and friendly, helpful people. Our room was clean and comfortable, but there were no chairs in the room -- no place at all to sit down. The nearby balcony did offer comfortable seating and an excellent view south to the Gulf. The breakfasts were very good. Guests have a choice of five different breakfasts -- traditional Costa Rican, eggs and pancakes, etc. A fruit plate comes with any of the choices. There are also four fresh fruit juices to choose from. The hotel is small and difficult to find. Our shuttle driver went by it 3-4 times before we spotted the rather small sign in front. The hotel is a ways from downtown and uphill from town, so expect some hiking if you don't have a car. The staff is amazing -- very helpful and friendly. We especially enjoyed Diego at the front desk. Our only serious complaint was noise. The hotel sits on a narrow ***** of land between two streets -- one of them a major highway. There is a LOT of noise from vehicles on the streets, and since there is no a/c, the windows are generally open.
