Popular Montevideo 4-star Hotels

The hotel is very comfortable and spacious. The staff is super friendly (cristans in reception, Fernando and Pamela in Figaro (restaurant) and forgive I have not the name of the rest!! all toto are super friendly! . breakfast is soft but rich and fresh, and it has everything fundamental. We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel together with our 2 kids. We expected it to be a business hotel with comfort and some luxury. At least cleanliness. Well it wasn’t. It might be a 4 star hotel for Uruguayan standards, but for the rest of the world its more like a 2 star old fashioned 60s hotel. We had a family room (2 bedroom) on the 7th floor. Already exiting the elevator we knew what we could expect. Floors with old carpet and full with nasty stains. The entire floor smells old and a bit like old sigaret smoke. Pretty nasty actually. The room itself is similar. Old floor with broken tiles and edges. Really sober and uninviting room, no decorations whatsoever. No ceiling lights. Old furnishings. No curtains just a screen. A big disappointment actually. Gym wasn’t available. We took a look but I wouldt even dare using those old machines actually. Certainly when you consider the price per night this place just isnt worth it. So after a night we expected a breakfast with some sort of business standard. But also the breakfast is a big disappointment and actually pretty tasteless. I dont know what they add to the scrambled egg, but smells weird. Fruits are out of date and nasty. Dry bread. Cold scrambled egg. And due to covid it is not allowed to get to the food yourself. One (sometimes 2) person is helping everyone in the hotel, so that didnt really work out. On day 3 all of the sudden our cards to enter the room didn’t work anymore, ofcourse solved at the reception but still annoying and strange. Well at least the free wifi worked well here. Overall I would recommend to book a different place with a higher standard, NH is a bit of disappointment considering the price per night.

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and is very comfortable and comfortable. The hotel is close to the Montevideo Shopping Center and there are several restaurants to eat. Although there was little movement in the hotel area, it felt safe.

We had no problems with the hotel, its location or cleanliness. However, we were double charged for our room back in March 2022 and 7 months later have still not received a refund. Upon check in the girl charged our credit card the incorrect amount for our booking. When I pointed out the error, she recharged my credit card in the correct amount and said she would issue a credit once she asked someone who knew how to process it. Shortly after we were issued a credit and given the appropriate slips indicating the 2 charges and the credit charges to my card. When we arrived home I noticed 2 charges from the hotel on my credit card statement but no credit. For some reason the credit has never processed to my credit card. Up on closer inspection of the credit slip I noticed it says INCORRECTO at the bottom and therefore never got processed. I have sent numerous emails trying contact someone at the hotel since this booking trying to get my $463.50 USD refund; and no one will return my emails or my phone calls. I even had the booking agency contact the hotel (***********) and they still will not correct this matter. This is not a big hotel (it has 21 rooms) and at the time of our stay it had very few bookings so reconciling this matter should not be a problem. I wonder if they make a practice of doing this type of thing??

The hotel is connected to a shopping centre for shopping and dining. The hotel is very close to the La Plata River and only takes 3 minutes on foot. The hotel is fully equipped and the breakfast is hearty.

Super well located and spacious rooms. That's only positive. I used the “parking” filter in the search of Booking.com , but in the 4 days we stayed, I never had vacation. And they didn't warn walk before I had to book. It's a swallow. It was easy to park on the street, and weak and unheard service in general. Rooms with maintenance to be desired : lime in the bathroom marble, air conditioned pinking and with water noise all the time, in the couple's room there was no edreddom, only a fine coat. At 10:30 p.m., the attendants ran to take away everything! Even with the full room, they took away everything! I saw not to replace after the time, but at the exact time they took away everything without even passing on the tables asking: everything with an industrialized face. They seem to have taken out of the packages and put them in the portions. The mosquito egg had a watery fluid and was cold, because the rechaud was always off. And if you ask for fridge eggs, the part is charged. Cold lingues with rechaud off tb. In short, I don't want to get back and pay. Please make it clear: wonderful location. Search another hotel in the same region.

Everything was excellent. The room had recently been redecorated and was very clean, the restaurant is superb, hotel staff was very friendly and pointed us to interesting places in the city. It is at a central location in the city so it's great if you're planning to explore by walking on the rambla. We hope to visit again soon!

I stayed 3 nights in the so called double standard room. My room was on the 6th floor overlooking the street. I enjoyed my stay at Own Montevideo. The room had a nice modern setup with a plenty of storage space, switches/power outlets in all the right places, many lighting fixtures. I could open windows and get a fresh air. The A/C worked fine. Wi-Fi was fine as well. The bathroom was of a decent size, with the separation between the sink and the toilet/shower. There was a window next to the bathroom sink, with a plenty of light coming in. Everything was in decent shape and looked clean. I found the small shelf was missing in the shower but it didn’t bother me much. Noise level was average. Nothing super loud that bothered me. The breakfast was adequate, with friendly personnel. One thing to know is that you have to specifically ask for coffee/tea and it will be brought to you. Everyone from the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located. I walked to Pocitos/Montevideo sign and back. Everything is a short Uber ride away, with a plenty of Uber cars available. Uber ride to Buquebus terminal for direct ferry to BA at the morning took around 15 minutes. If you arrive at MVD airport without a lot of luggage, you can take DM1 bus at the front of the terminal (84 pesos as of November 2022), get off at the last stop and walk ahead for 2 minutes and you are right there at the hotel door. Very convenient. All in all, everything was good, as it seems like everything else in Montevideo. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and am giving it 5 stars review. I certainly recommend it.

We stayed here for one night in mid-January and found it to be a wonderful location, right in the heart of the old city. We were walking distance to the port, areas of the old town, and many attractions and plazas. The staff was very friendly and happy to answer questions in English, recommending restaurants and sights to see. They were also happy to hold our luggage for us the day we checked out until our afternoon departure. Each room is apparently unique, and ours was beautiful, with a comfortable bed and an obviously updated bathroom with modern fittings and conveniences. Our room was on the first floor (one above ground level) and we did hear some road noise in the morning as the city started walking, so if you're concerned about noise you may want to request a higher floor. Breakfast was included in our stay and had very good options, both hot and cold.
