I strongly advise against it, clearly not up to the standard of other Mercure hotels. The air conditioning doesn't work and the rooms are ovens, no sockets next to the bed, the ceiling in the bathroom very low, holes in the carpet, sunlight coming through the curtains and so on. The only positive point is that the staff is pleasant. Does not deserve its 4 stars, dilapidated establishment.

The location is great! The staff is pleasant. Small downside, there was hair stuck to the shower ceiling 🤔

Catastrophic: air conditioning that doesn't work, refrigerator broken, no water when I arrived around 4 p.m. .... no manager, only young interns who were trying to do the best by offering free drinks, they were absolutely not shoulders. What a disaster for a 4 star hotel. And the next day upon departure: no excuses presented.

The hotel is located 15 min from the city center and easy to reach with a car. The reception looks new and welcoming. The service and check-in was friendly and fast. Unfortunately the rooms are old and not in a good shape. There is a lack of sockets so that you can't charge your phone next to the bed. Also the furniture was old and had a lot of damaged signs on them. The aircon was not working properly so that it was hot during the night, even that the outside temperature wasn't that high. The toilet was ok, but again looked too used. A renovation is definitely needed. The asked price for the night was also high, so that you cannot even speak of a good price/value ratio. The breakfast was ok. The hotel won't be my first choice next time.

Comfortable well appointed bedroom, but un-inviting public areas. Better than average breakfast buffet with efficient breakfast staff. Dinner menu overpriced for what it is. Be wary on check out as the reception will take a pre-auth on your card prior to your stay which they then try to claim is a deposit and attempt to charge your card a second time for the full value of the stay rather than undertaking a completion on the pre-auth already taken - which is normal hospitality practice.

Em uma das pontas da Esplanada da Europa, zona contemporânea da pitoresca Montpellier, fica esse Mercure, cujos anos de glória já passaram há tempos. Antes de mais nada, há de se dizer que os funcionários são excepcionalmente eficientes: parabéns a Julia, Dylan, Sebastien e ao diretor Gervais! O prédio é velho, tem um ar grandiosamente antiquado e precisa de reformas urgentes, as queixas são diversas e constantes. De lá para o centro histórico a pé, passando por dentro da galeria Polygone, são uns 15min. Tudo é muito imponente e grandioso, o hall de entrada em círculo, o salão de café da manhã, o restaurante sempre vazio e com uma seleção primorosa de vinhos que ninguém aproveita... As suítes têm o mesmo padrão e ficam bem no fim do corredor esquerdo, com um roteador exclusivo para cada uma. São quatro espaços bem marcados: lavabo com corredor à frente, sala de estar com sofá-cama, quarto (estes separados por uma porta de correr) e banheiro com closet. O estilo é do século passado, só há uma tomada no quarto inteiro, não há mesa de trabalho (infelizmente padrão na França, exceto em Paris), os móveis estão passados, a TV dá trabalho pra funcionar, entretanto tudo ainda funcional. No banheiro não há onde se pendurar toalhas, a ducha fica dentro da banheira e não tem pressão. Fora isso, todo o espaço se inunda e um acidente está sempre à espreita, já que a água escorre e se espalha por todo o banheiro, que não possui exaustor para sugar o vapor d'água excedente. O café da manhã é suficiente, com sucos, pães, pratos quentes e algumas frutas, mas tudo parece meio preguiçoso e com a impressão de que falta algo. Num país famoso pelos seus queijos e patisseria, não há uma torta sequer e o único queijo é industrializado, embalado em plástico. O estacionamento custa 15 euros por noite, alguns restaurantes ficam próximos à esplanada mas a maioria fica, de fato, no centro histórico, aonde se chega rapidamente com o VLT quase à porta do hotel. Funcionários não usam uniforme e pouquíssimos tem identificação com nome, ou seja, não se sabe quem é hóspede ou não. Reformas estão previstas para outubro por alguns meses e se espera uma modernização urgente da unidade, que tem muito potencial para ser excelente mas é apenas funcional.
