We have been to the Amble inn several times with our dogs and have had great service and found the rooms to be excellent for dogs especially the even numbered ones on the ground floor that have a door out to the back of the hotel. However this time we had a package that included a meal for our first night and that was a disappointment. It was Saturday evening, however the meal took over 1hours 40mins most of that was waiting. When the food when it arrived was warm not hot and only adequate. Having said that our overall experience of the 2 nights stay was V good

The staff was great, very attentive and eager to please. The location of the Inn was much further out of town than it would seem from the description. You had to drive everywhere, probably my own mistake but I thought I’d be able to at least walk to the harbour or the main street in Amble. You had to drive every where. The mattresses were really uncomfortable, I felt like I was sleeping on stones all week. I would not stay there again despite the fact that the staff was really great. Also, they should really think about adding flannels, washcloths, facecloths - whatever you want to call them. It would make showering with liquid soap much easier.

Was a visit to see family and had heard good things about the Amble Inn. Room was spotless but, and this is the only thing bad about it, we had room 1. It's right next to the rear doors to the kitchen (or storeroom?) and when the door was closed you felt it in the room. Also be prepared for an early morning alarm call as staff meet outside for a cuppa at 5.40am. Staff were excellent though and very polite and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic, plenty of choice. So to sum up, it's a lovely place with great staff, clean rooms and good food. Will stay again but will ask to not have room 1.

Only down side to the stay was the number of dogs staying in the hotel, also we don't like dogs in eateries.

Having mobility problems it was ideal to have room on ground floor with access to allow car to be unloaded diirectly in to room. Staff were very helpful and friendly

Food was amazing, service was good & the kids play area was a big hit with the kids. Highly recommend the steak, pizza & kids sausage & mash. Fantastic sun trap too if you come in the summer months. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………

First time we have been here, lovely interior, shame about the carvery . Asked for a bigger plate as we like loads of gravy to be told, u cant you can only have the plate you have paid for, even though, I didn't want extra meat just gravy. As for the meat, hardly got non. This was for a standard plate. So maybe that's why! Turkey was very dry . There was very sparse vegetables. Dried out , and tasteless, Yorkshire puddings were crispy and hard, I did ask for more fresh veg and Yorkshire To be told no!! There cooking and will be a while. They shouldn't allow food to run that low on a busy sunday Mint sauce like grass, no sauce at all in it. Really bad experience and won't be returning back for a carvery.
