Sea Palace Hotel - Near Gateway of India

The hotel is excellent location for exploring Mumbai. I paid extra to have a sea view. Was hoping for double bed. The twin room beds were small and not very comfortable. Room pretty basic. Staff very helpful. Overall for price not bad but not great.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sea Palace Hotel in Colaba, Mumbai, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped foot into this vintage hotel, I felt like I had traveled back in time to old Bombay. The hotel's location is simply superb, overlooking the Arabian Sea and just a stone's throw away from the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel. The check-in process was swift and hassle-free, contrary to some reviews I had read. The staff at Sea Palace Hotel were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable. I had the privilege of staying in a sea view room, and it exceeded all my expectations. The room was impeccably clean and fresh, and the space provided was quite generous. The bathrooms were also well-maintained and spotless. Although I had booked breakfast, I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to enjoy it. However, the staff was incredibly accommodating and understanding of our situation. I stayed at the Sea Palace Hotel for a total of five days, and I can confidently say that I will choose this hotel again for my future visits to Mumbai. The price I paid for the excellent location and top-notch service was definitely worth it. The ***agers and staff at Sea Palace Hotel truly believe in the ***tra that the customer is king. They made us feel welcome and treated us like family throughout our stay. Lastly, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Sea Palace.

The Sea Palace Hotel is in the most amazing location overlooking the harbour and 2 mins walk from the Gateway to India. Lots of shopping and excellent places to eat and drink in the vicinity. Also the hotel had its own roof top bar/restaurant which is lovely in the evenings. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Mumbai. I already recommending this hotel to my friends. Thank you Sea Palace Hotel for a most remarkable stay in Mumbai. We decided to stay in this hotel after reading a recommendation in the French travel guide "Le routard". After reading some negative reviews I messaged the ***ager Mr Raj to ascertain if the hotel would be a decent place to stay. It has after all a perfect location just behind the Taj hotel and Gateway to India. The price was 3800 rupees per night including air con. Mr Raj assured us that the hotel was perfectly normal and that he would personally supervise the preparation of our room. Me Raj seems to believe that buttering up his guests will allow him to get away with lying and charging an exorbitant amount for what I can only refer to as a "rat hole". 3800 rupees is around 40 euros..a small fortune in India. Upon arrival we discovered a tiny, shabby, totally run down and filthy room. We made the decision to stay since we had no guarantee to find anything better in the neighbourhood at that price. Everything in the room was old broken or dirty. We had a small fridge, probably never cleaned. Only the ground floor of this building is occupied and clearly Mr Raj has preferred not to spend any of his hotel income on cleaning or repair. The air con did not work properly, so we were either freezing or sweltering. Our bed sheets had holes and stains on them. To prove that I am not exaggerating in the slightest I took lots of photos so you can judge for yourselves.

Such a great place to stay!! The room was great value for money, clean and comfortable. Raja was absolutely amazing making our stay so smooth sailing and helping us in any way shape or form! We cannot thank him enough! Would definitely recommend

No frills hotel but the bed was comfortable, the AC worked and there was running hot water. The room was plain and small. The sea view room that we booked was not available (despite having called and confirmed a day prior) but they did provide a smaller non view room. Breakfast was good. Location was excellent.

Good value for the price. Convenient location close to Gateway of India. Breakfast is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms could use a bit of an upgrade.

Poor service , terrible rooms they need to renewait the rooms . The paints were chip . Every were there were spider webs and bothrooms were horrible in place. All the furniture was out dated and Air conditions was in bad conditions. Rooms were having nasty smell . Breakfast was ok the good part of Breakfast was the serve you fresh omelets on the table of your choice. Overall very very bad experience .
