Absolutely fantastic! Cannot recommend Murchison Lodge enough. Just book it! Family of 4, stayed in December for 1 night. Had we known how wonderful it was, we'd have booked for longer, we didn't want to leave! Booked direct. Philip replied promptly and was incredibly helpful. On arrival he greeted us and showed us round the beautiful lodge. Everywhere was incredibly clean, beautiful views, homemade cake, well stocked - basically everything was so easy and provided and just what you want when travelling. Philip very kindly accommodated our very last minute request for an extra room, even though he'd already set up Koru room especially for our boys as a twin. Large bedrooms and bathrooms, all tastefully decorated. Breakfast was outstanding. Lots of home made delicious products. Nice walk down to the river and easy to walk in to town. Truly wonderful hosts.

Some people told us to skip Murchison as there is supposedly nothing there. We strongly disagree as the Murchison Lodge of Philip and Daphne is a wonderful place to stay, surrounded by rivers and hills. The Lodge is very homely and Philip and Daphne are wonderful hosts, very warm and welcoming. The custom made breakfast is fantastic (I am still trying to replicate the poached eggs 😉). Definitely worthwhile stopping by and slowing down to fully appreciate this place. We'll visit again if we ever get the chance.

The best place we have stayed during our whole New Zealand trip. The owner Philip is a great guy and takes care a lot for his guests. He was cooking a marvelous breakfast by his own according to our individual wishes which left nothing to be desired. The whole house has so many small things and items which really make the difference to all other places such as matchsticks in the toilet, hair shampoo and toilet paper of highest quality and many others. It is definitely a home away from home and whenever I have the possibility, I will return.

Fantastisk vært. Meget skønt sted med lille sti ned til udkigspunkt over floden.
Vidunderlig opholdsstue og overdækket veranda.
Haven er meget hyggelig.
Fint fælles køkken hvor der blev serveret hjemmelavet morgenmad med alt man kan forestille sig.

A Wonderful Gem
An amazing place. Near the river with a beautiful lookout point where you can take fotos and sit down to enjoy the view. A delicious breakfast made up on your request. The host was so nice and helpful in all ways. I will absolutely stay here again.
